I love the idea of the picnic blanket, and I think using a fabric you love for a household project can just add joy every time you use it!

I think the beach blanket is a great idea! If it was me I would quilt the fabric to the wadding to prevent shifting when used/washed. Can’t wait to see what you end up making!

Love it, seen Ruan already, so had a peek already. I think the donney shirt would be great. A bag would be great, but the blanket sounds great

I think the idea of a blanket is awesome - Maybe you could do the square and add a complimentary large border to make it bigger. We have a huge beach/picnic blanket and it is used a lot in the garden and on the beach. Our's has patchwork motifs on it too which are lovely - so it could be a working project you build up over the years [you know a motif from RHB - such as a crab etc this year] I did think of a little shorts /shirt outfit in the stripey fabric for Taylor. So cute.😎❤

I like the idea of a picnic blanket, but that fabric is just too nice for it. I did like the idea of matching shirts for Sam and Taylor. If you had any leftover, maybe shorts or a tank top for yourself. I'm going to check out the blog post for your article, it sounds like an interesting read. Way back when i was a young teenager, my older cousin had pretty navy sailor dress with white trim. I loved it so much, i made myself one. When my daughters started grade 1, I made them sailor style dresses using a multi coloured striped seersucker fabric with a white collar. I currently have a sailor style blouse cut out for myself using pink and white polka dot fabric. I just think it's a timeless style. Your hair colour and style look very pretty.

I make my husband shirts using the Wardrobe by me Jensen shirt pattern which I highly recommend. Comes with a warning. He loves the linen shirts I make and always wants more ! A shirts sleeved version in the cotton poplin would look fabulous.

I think a blanket is a great use for a fabric if it's not your style for a garment.💜

Lockhart Dress/Jumpsuit by Helen’s Closet may look nice in the poplin fabric.

The striped fabric would look great as a Donny shirt, but for the main fabric my suggestion would be to make a shirt for Taylor with matching shorts out of the Tilly book & if enough shorts for you. I liked the idea of making a blanket but am sure you must have loads of fabric pieces left over from projects that you could piece together for the top of the blanket. ❤

It seems a waste of that lovely fabric I would buy a cheap fleece blanket instead.
