I took a sewing class 5 years ago and my teacher gifted me one of the class's sewing machine and I never used it again after that. Just a couple of days ago i found a trendy zebra print skirt at the thrift store and it really inspired me to learn how to sew again instead of buying an expensive garment. The skirt hasn't turned out the way I want to yet but this video inspires me to keep trying! Thank you Diana :)

dianachamomile well the original length of the skirt was a little long for my taste so I sewed it higher but it’s just a little too long still so I’m not sure if I should take out all the thread and start over or leave it and cut off the hem and then tuck it in and see that?

Ximena Rodriguez aw yes!! take the hem out and try again :) it’s worth the effort if you get the length you want. just don’t cut until you pin the length down and try it on * carefully * of course!

Loved it! I just got out my sewing machine that my mom bought me when I was in elementary school! The thing is almost two decades old but it looks brand new because I didn’t really use it since I didn’t have anyone to teach me how to use it. I turn 26 next month and I’ve decided to follow my dreams lol! I have no idea what I’m doing yet but I’m excited to learn! I probably won’t be able to go to school for it but I know I can go far with it with if I put my mind to it!

i really recommend getting sewing clips! theyre so much more convenient to use for hems and they don't accidentally rip or snag the fabric :)

I've been finding it difficult to buy clothes that really fit my body and since I've gotten more into buying secondhand I've been thinking more about making my own clothes because not only will they then be made to fit me but also the quality will be better. The clothing stores where I live sell cheap fast fashion type clothes that have the seams falling apart within the first couple weeks of wearing and I've gotten so tired of spending my money on things that are barely worth it. I think this series will be good in continuing to inspire me to find sewing lessons and maybe even try to teach myself from online sources.

My fav transformation actually was the denim shirt, because it had such an awkward fit and cut to start with. The other two *can* be styled as they are, but they work so much better for your personal style now. I'm sew into this concept. Maybe fix up the fit of some jeans and trousers next?

khay la dowls i haven’t had a problem with sewing denim on regular sewing needles before but then again, i’ve never used thick denim/ don’t load up the needle too much either. i thrifted my mom jeans but they’re originally levi’s rib cage style ☺️

Can't believe I'm this early. You look beautiful in this video. Your sewing machine is way better than mine. My favorite result was the chambray top--and it was my least favorite "before!" I do wonder, if you're going to tie up the shirts, what is the point of cropping them? It'd be easier to tie them if you left them as is. But you know your way around a sewing machine, that is obvious. Good job.

Susan Ma great question! when i tie shirts that are too long they tend to have this extra bunching and the ties look too long at the ends for my liking! So I was already tying the yellow shirt before but i didn’t quite 100% enjoy it still 😂 so glad you enjoyed the video- thanks for being here! 🐰💞
