Oh my goodness, you brought back the original DVF! You know how many of us stalk garage and ebay sales for this, don’t you? Thank you, MimiG! 👍👍 That will be going in my cart.

I'm over the moon about this re-release of the original DVF wrap dress! I purchased the original pattern when it was first released almost 50 years ago and made 3 of these dresses! Sadly, my pattern along with many other classics were lost in 1999 during a cross-country move 😥 I didn't want to pay for an overpriced used pattern. So YES!!! I'm so happy that Vogue has made this iconic dress available again! Thank you Mimi G for the tutorial that will no doubt inspire many to add this DVF wrap dress to their wardrobes 💖

SAME SAME SAME! I am out of my tree over this rerelease and I’m so excited for a good helpful video. The combination of the rerelease of this pattern and MimiG’s instructions it’s like sewing Christmas!!

Thank you for brining back vintage patterns. I would love to see more of them, especially from the 1930s. Balboa, swing dancing has become so popular in my area, that I now have to bring out my machine and makes some clothes. 🙂

Thank you for the tutorial! I had this pattern for a couple of years from a vintage pattern shop in unique size. Sadly the pattern was too small for me. I am so happy they had reprint it! My next project definitely!

I hope Simplicity/Vogue Corporate knows what an incredible gem they have that is Mimi G. She is an amazing instructor! I'm not an advanced sewist, but this video - limited as she mentions - makes me feel like this is totally easy peasy. I bought the PDF version. Go Mimi G! 🥰

I wish there was more of a reveal of the finished dress at the end! That 5 second photo set at the end doesn’t do the dress or the maker justice. Would have loved to see it modeled in motion, and some detail close-up shots! I can’t wait to get my hands on this pattern.

Lovely explanation. What was the material that was used? How much stretch? stretch in both directions or not?
@nixr611 ай бұрын
It's a knit, but no stretch is mentioned.

A wonderful quick tutorial. What fabric did you use to make this? A single knit cotton jersey or a woven? Thanks in advance for your response.

For some reason this pattern has not been made available at Joann's. Is the fact that Joann is facing possible bankruptcy that new patterns aren't being shipped? Does anyone know? Very strange. I'd like this pattern but no way am I paying $35. I think I can draft it if I get a good look. Going to make a stab at that before ordering on Amazon.
@johannaf29988 ай бұрын
It is at Joann now. I bought it today at the 5.99 sale.

I found the pattern on Amazon this morning for about US $22.00. That’s the price for the larger sizes, up to a 22 or 24. The smaller size range is about US $17.00. I suppose it’s cheaper because they use less paper? Anyway, I ordered it. Today’s pattern prices seem so high! When I was a teen in the 1970s, I paid $1.75 or so for a sewing pattern. Nowadays, I trace all my patterns, since they’re so expensive. I keep the tissue patterns for reference. 😇
