Very inspiring! Thanks for doing a video for Aus sewers. You should definitely 'jump' into doing the joni jumpsuit 😜 I think it would really suit you, & paired with a leather jacket 👍

Great video. Jess! I enjoy looking at RTW and finding patterns to recreate the styles. I've not sewn any Victory patterns, but Sian from Kittenish Behaviour has made the Jackie dress & it's a gorgeous dress .Don't know if you like big 4 patterns but I've found some cute jumpsuits from McCalls 7756, 7757, 7577 and Vogue 9319-tie front top and pants and Simplicity 8637-a wrap dress which is similar to one of the RTW you showed.

Thank you so much Laura! It is my favourite thing to do when out shopping now - think of all the patterns I could use to make the items. I am very keen to try out Victory patterns so good to know Siân has tried them - i'll go check it out. All of the McCalls patterns are stunning! And I love the vogue one too. Thank you for the suggestions x

Tie front worth checking out simplicity 8601. I’m excited about this video as so many things on my list and radar pretty consistent with the trends. Feels like sewing community is getting closer to the fashion world? Sometimes relaxed roll neck is called cowl neck I think but they can sometimes be oversized / big.

Oh my gosh such a cute pattern! Thank you for the suggestion. So glad you enjoyed the video. I agree seeing a lot more similarities between RTW & new release sewing patterns x

Jessica Lorraine oh my gosh I feel exactly the same way about the closet case sallie jumpsuit and the victory patterns frances dress they are def on my list. But esp the latter not many Insta makes! I have Joni jumpsuit pattern and can’t stop making the bottom half as pants. So total bonus there, good cut. Actual jumpsuit not too far away!!

I love these types of videos! 😃 I hope you do one for every season because going into clothing stores now is more inspirational than shopping for me. As for the tie front, I was just looking at the new patterns for McCalls and Vogue last night and they have some cute ones. McCalls M7756 is a tie front jumpsuit or romper and Vogue V9319 is a cute tie front top. Great video! 👍🏼

So glad you enjoyed it! I really liked filming it so I will try and do one again for spring / summer. Oh that romper is so cute and the tie top is perfection (although I wouldn't wear the pants) x

Excellent video. Particularly for Australia. We are out of sync with the rest of the world... But we also just run our own trends a bit. I love that you were trying sorting different with the computer screen display. I quite like it.

Thank you so much for watching Hannah! I do agree that we run our own trends. Glad you enjoyed the different style of video x

I think tessuti has a relaxed turtleneck pattern that is more relaxed fit - and it's free I believe!

Ooo yes I think this is the one they just released? Got to love a freebie!

I think it's called the Lucida dress from Friday Pattern company has a tie front. I'm sure you could also hack the a line skirt into a jumpsuit too.

Thanks for doing this for us Southern Hemisphere girls! I’m starting to feel the cold here (15 degrees at night and the morning)

I am wishing for cooler weather! We've had a couple of weeks of warm weather and as much as the days have been beautiful I love the cooler weather x

Jessica Lorraine my body is in a bit of a shock.... cold feet and the like. Houses here are built for heat so when it’s cold outside..... inside it’s like a freezer. I yearn for cool weather but then I want the hotter one back 😂

Personally I try to avoid anything that is 'in vogue this year' as it will rapidly date. I don't want to spend many hours making something that I can't wear in a year or two's time.
@jessdoeslife__6 жыл бұрын
I agree although some things are just classics that will be around for a while. I like to look at what is currently 'in' but in the end I make clothes I love that I will wear for a long time. I'm just lucky florals are quite in at the moment!!!
