I’ve chosen that pattern this year too, Tiffany. I’ve made 3 so far and I have another 7 ‘under construction’! I’m going to make half of them in the larger sizes this year. Hopefully we can all make a little difference for lots of little girls. Beautiful choice of fabric too. 🤗

Tiffany, the dress is absolutely gorgeous in that fabric. Thanks for the video. Tell Addy June happy birthday for me. I'm sure she is so very excited.

Wonderful dress and I think older girls particularly need that extra boost to their self-esteem from a pretty new dress as they approach adolescence. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do PDAG this year but hope to get an early start for 2025. Happy birthday to your dear little girl!

My second year doing Project Dress a Girl. I have used Crafty Mom's dress pattern, so cute and easy! I love the one your made-- flowers and polka dots. I agree, making dresses for the older girls will be such a blessing for them!

I bet the girl's who get these dresses really love them and feel pretty wearing them. I can already see their smiling faces.

Hello dear Tiffany. I’m sewing as many PDAG dresses as can sew! I sew in the evenings usually but if I can get in a few stitches in the afternoon I do too. I have three ready and many ideas swirling in my head for more! . I’m adding embellishments too along my sews! I have sewn an adorable baby dress. All of them are cute tho. My baby dress was an elastic sewn neckline also and so similar to your demo dress for this video. It’s just three pcs and a New Look pattern I think. It had added tucks close to the hemline too. Easy, but I took more time and encased the seams with both French seams and bias tape and along the one older girls dress I encased with bias tape around the waistline seam so hopefully it might last longer. It’s a knit t shirt on top( cut off around waistline or even more like an empire) and gathered fun cotton print for the skirt. Mari said on her video there is a big need for the biggest sizes. I’m hoping I can do several of those too. I have a huge cotton stash,for sure. And yes, pockets! Those are fun for added trims too. How is Addy June now that she’s 4. I bet you can hardly believe it! Has she started preschool yet!? She’ll love it and learn so much too. Hope you had a fun time camping and at the steam show. We use to go to a big one not too far from us. It was fun. Have a great week sewing and it’s cooler here last evening and today but absolutely gorgeous outside. Blessings! Nancy from Ft Wayne.

I’ve made this dress several times. On those for older age girls I leave side slits to give them more room when sitting down.

Great video, Tiffany!! I love the fabric choice! Fun and happy. This is a great pattern. I used this style pattern for my girls' flannel nightgowns when they were little. Your video flow and voice over is on point! Happy birthday to Addey! Your party pictures turned out beautifully. Happy Tuesday! Happy sewing!! 🎉

Lovely dress, Tiffany. My friend and I are participating for the first time this year. Having so much fun!! Can you please tell me about Steam a Seam. Do you peel it off or remove it after sewing? Thanks for this informative video. ❤
@hoosierhandmade222 ай бұрын
Hello, Marcia! Thank you so much for watching! Great questions about the Steam a Seam, it’s kind of like an adhesive stay tape. It’s sticky on both sides, as you unroll it, you lay the exposed sticky side down on the wrong side of your item, then peel the backing off, exposing the other sticky side. I then lay my pocket down on the dress front where I want it to go and then iron it to activate the adhesive nature. This is really handy for pockets as it takes the place of having to use pins. I don’t worry about trying to remove it after sewing. Think of it as it as a fusible interfacing. So handy and super inexpensive. It’s like $6 on Amazon for two rolls of it. I’ve linked it in my description box. Hope this helps, Marcia! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

I watched Mari’s instructions and she says not to use pillowcases for the dress. I hope to participate.
@hoosierhandmade222 ай бұрын
Hello, Susan! Thanks so much for watching! Yes, you’re exactly right. The pattern is called a Pillowcase Dress but we definitely don’t want to be using pillowcases to make them, only the cotton type fabrics. If you’re interested in that pattern, I go into more detail about that in that video of mine. Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

Hi Tiffany, for some reason I'm on the website for the free pattern, but can't find it to download? I must be blind..... While watching Mari Sew's part on your video she says dresses up to size 12??? You said you made a size 14 I believe. I don't understand why not a size 14
@hoosierhandmade222 ай бұрын
Hello, Diane! Thank you so much for watching! If you use the link in the description box there’s a paragraph in that entitled “Where Can I Find the Pattern”. In that paragraph, they give the link for the pattern pieces. She has you “buy” the pattern and that’s how you get the pdf pattern. It’s free so not really buying, lol. Yes, I didn’t realize that Mari only wants up to size 12 but I’m donating my dresses to a local charity anyway so my sz 14 will be welcome with that organization. Sorry for the confusion there, Diane. If you have any questions or need some screen shots on where to find the pdf pattern, just shot me an email and I’ll be happy to send those! Thanks for participating, Diane! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

Is there a similar program for boys? They need clothing also.
@hoosierhandmade2212 күн бұрын
Hi, Carol! Thanks for watching! I don’t know about an official program for boys but my local quilt shop that is running the charity I donate to is accepting little cotton shorts as well for boys. If you want to find an international resource or program, maybe Google search would provide some answers. Thanks for the great question! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany

Hello, Cathy! Thank you for your interest in Project Dress a Girl! We so appreciate your help for 2025! Yes! This dress comes as a free PDF and also has full instructions as well. I’ve put links to each of these in the description box of this video. But I’ll also include the link here where you can “buy” the pattern for free and then print the pdf to assemble. shop.scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com/product/peasant-dress-pattern-12-mo-to-14-yr/ Please let me know if you have any other questions, Cathy, thanks again for helping with us with this special cause! Hello, Joan! Thanks for watching! If you followed along with the sew with me, at the point where I serge, I give other suggestions for seam finishes, such as using pinking shears or making another row of zigzagging stitch along the seam with your normal sewing machine. Hope this helps! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
