Watching these while I nurse my newborn and living vicariously through your sewing. Soon we are moving to a place that will have room for me to set up a sewing space, and we will be going from home schooling my preschooler and online schooling my fifth grader to them both being in a school building. So I'll be able to care for the baby and have some personal time to sew and paint and draw again. Our new home has a long back deck facing a pond and a main road, so I want to make large scale barn star quilts to hang over the railing on nice days

Love everything about this video! Especially your sweet helper. :) it’s good to see how you use the creative grid rulers. I love how they don’t move, but the extra .25 & .5” on those mess with my brain and I have to use another ruler on top to make sure I’m cutting the right size. Enjoy seeing how you coordinate fabrics. So nice! Thank you!!

I'm really loving your quilting basics videos, so informative. Quilting has always seemed complex to me because I'd always see the end result, not the process of making one, but now I realise it's just basic geometry and precision in cutting and stitching. My engineering self really loves the idea behind it. Magic! (also, no need to apologise for Jax, people with pets will appreciate and those without will never understand anyway :D kinda glad my cat hates noise and as soon as I get onto sewing she excuses herself from the room!)
@erica_arndt2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's actually quite easy once you see it done! Of course there are more complicated quilt processes with diagonals and y-seams, but this is a beginner course :)
@LindaM-vd5wk Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing the Ohio block. Your choice of fabrics are always so cute. I am a beginner and made many mistakes. It helps to focus and follow directions. I also decided to purchase the creative grid rulers even though I have similar rulers. The non-skid dots help a lot. Thank you for being real. You help to make learning fun.

You explain everything so that it is easy to understand. How do you have the energy for everything you do. Home schooling plus the videos, taking your kids to their different activities and sewing and craft projects.
