Cutting larger is a great idea for those of us who have difficulty getting our block to come out the right size no matter what we do. I appreciate learning your technique.

Agreed! Mine always seem to be about 1/4-inch smaller than what they are supposed to be and I have no clue why. I probably don't have a true 1/4-inch seam even though I sew with a guided foot.

So, here's my idea..... Kimberly, your methods for piecing are amazing. It would be wonderful if you published a book about how you revise a pattern using your ideas that result in perfectly pieced blocks. Your tutorials are amazing but how great would it be to have all these methods in book form? You could call it, "Strategic Piecing and Planning for Perfect Quilts". 😊😊😊

I love how you show different ways to help us make blocks more true to the pattern sizes. I have definitely improved and think i am ready to start Spangled now that you have explained a few things. I think you are just fine with showing us your methods when taking a quilt pattern and showing us your process of calculating yardage and using your techniques for the ultimate perfect quilt. I'd much rather do it well, than just risk screw it up. Your abilities of planning ahead and solving problems, are wonderful. Your methods, in my opinion, are fantastic!

I do learn alot from your style of sewing. I haven't adopted every tip, but my sewing has become more accurate. For me just slowing down and valuing accuracy is the key. You've been a role model for valuing accuracy. I used to sew just to "get it done" but now I am enjoying the process more. At any rate, you have a loyal follower as I tune in each week. Enjoy your time off and please know you have made a positive difference in this world. 🌍

I absolutely love when you over complicate things. I am the SAME way so it is fun to see what you do & how you make your blocks absolutely perfect. I love the tricks of making certain pieces bigger so you can cut down & make it perfect. You may see it as over complicating but I see it as making it easier actually and I love it. Thank you for all you do & for taking the time to teach all of us!

I absolutely love seeing you ‘over complicate’ things. When I have trouble getting my blocks to come out using the standard, basic method I need your ‘complications’ to fix my problems! PLEASE keep instructing this way; just like making a pattern our own we can choose to be complicated (or not), but we can only do this if you also give us the complications . ❤️😉☺️

Love your “over complicated “ method and have used many of your techniques to make my projects more accurate. Keep being you.

I really enjoyed this episode. Spangled is a pattern I would never have considered, but now that I have seen Kimberly putting it together, I really like it! Personally I like seeing the deep dives into techniques that Kimberly showed today. I'm not a beginner though, so maybe that is what makes it so appealing to me. There are lots of videos for complete beginners but if you want something more challenging there is less out there. I hope you continue making scrap quilts and stretching the boundaries.

I am fascinated watching your tutorials! I learn so many extra techniques. I don't know how you teach and demonstrate at the same time. You and Lori are my favorites!

Love your unlimited creative spirit, and I look forward to each video. I have designed and quilted for forty years, but love learning a new method and the process. When someone asks how long a project takes, my answer is always, my lifetime. You know, all of you, what that means.

I too am a perfectionist when it comes to piecing together blocks. Love seeing fabric selection options different from those shown on the pattern. Thank you for all you do for us.

I love the way you are doing everything, Kimberly! Please don’t change, even though I understand it must be difficult for you to do so much…thank you! I am a better quilter because of your craziness😍

I love it when you show us how you cut and sew. Sometimes I do the same thing especially when I know the finished size matters. Thanks for showing us Spangled. I would never have considered this quilt in the fabric shown but I love how you saw it in Lori Holt fabrics.
