Nice to meet you Emily my name is Maureen & I grew up in Poway but now live in SC (family in Temecula & San Marcos). I took home economics when they taught it in school & have been sewing for 51 yrs. I’ve always said my 2 tips are..... pressing as you go bc it’s the difference between professionally made and homemade....and when you get frustrated walk away from the machine. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, you're a basically a neighbor! 🙂 I have to agree with you on walking away when frustrated (or tired). I used to force myself to stay and try to fix the problem, but it only made it worse, of course! 😆

I totally agree with you about "pressing". I took a tailoring class back in the 90's and my instructor drilled that into our class. We had a Hugh professional vacuum press. I loved it!!

Unfortunately, that's just their warehouse where you pick-up fabric if you're local. However, they offer pre-cut bags in the front room, but they don't offer access to their entire stock. Before Covid they had random events where you could shop the warehouse, but unfortunately this isn't like a fabric store. Bummer!

Eeek! Everyone loves pressing but me!! I have watched you fall deeper in love with pressing over the years, and I have to say that although a competent press brings a glow to your cheeks, I can't seem to develop any affection for pressing myself. Maybe a video all about pressing would help?! 😄
