How I Sewed my Spring Midi Dress

Hi folks, this weeks video is how I made my spring midi dress. If you've been following my instastories you will know I was trying to recreate my version of a dress I'd seen in M&S. I love how this has turned out, it couldn't be more comfortable and in this super drapey viscose fabric so lovely against the skin. Love, love, love this one♥️♥️♥️. I hope you enjoy. Susanne ♥️

Pretty as usual. I’m in awe of your engineering brain. You make it look easy but us “challenged” folks ALWAYS forget some parts when pattern drafting. A muslin usually fixes the omissions but I wish I could get it right 1st try.

i love all your videos , even bought the pattern books you recommended. But could and would you please show how to make basic pattern blocks? i've watched sooo many different videos also from Diane dalziel but i am not succesful. Just beginning. This seems to be the start for everything. I would be so grateful.

I. love this...question: If you cut the upper bodice at the waist, how do you get the blouson effect? It’s the perfect silhouette but I would have thought you’d have to add fabric at the waist length for the blouson effect....Is it just a subtle blouson?

Thanks Sally, I think the volume at the sides and back are due to the extra width in the fabric being pulled in by the elastic, the centre front where there is no elastic is just straight up and down🙃

Please please please go get you a glove on using the rotary cutter. I’ve heard everybody say oh I’ve done it I’ve never cut myself. It only takes one time to the emergency room. Please go get a glove
