We once got a 10' x 15' (-ish) carpet for free from a neighbor who used it in their finished basement in front of their fireplace. The tassels were partially worn away, and part of the pile was worn down where the fireplace was (from shifting and turning and loading the fireplace, likely. We beat it with brooms over the clothesline for half an hour, vacuumed it once each side, then washed it with Simple green, a broom and the hose on the driveway until the water ran clean. Hung it up to dry for a day and change and used it for another couple of decades. It was finally dumpstered when we couldn't even give it away at the "selling the house" yard sale.

Возможно, этот ковер лежит во дворе дома и по нему действительно ездят на машине. У кого нет возможности сдать в такую мойку, то хозяева вытаскивают ковры на улицу, на асфальт и щетками моют их. Это в порядке вещей . Восточные традиции окружать себя коврами.

Это старинный метод. Персидские натуральные ковры после изготовления клали на улицу на 2-3 недели. Грязный ковёр мыли, чистили, сушили, поправляли ворс и только после этого выставляли на продажу. Читала в персидских сказках. Сейчас этот способ укрепления нитей основы ковра описан в интернете. " Ковры, обязательно ручной работы, выкладывают на улицу, в поле, на яркое солнце и там он лежит под активным механическим воздействием две - три недели..." Подумать надо прежде, чем писать о грязи в мусульманских домах. Они самая чистоплотная нация. И руки у них золотые.

What a beautiful rug. I've had a sewer flood in my basement about 3 feet deep. I fell in it...the slime! The nastiness of it! Not one thing could be saved....so in all honesty I would have tossed this rug. But I am so glad they didn't. You do amazing work! It just kept coming out! You worked your butt off. I bet the owner was thrilled. Awesome job and new sub here! :)

There are more reasons to toss it than clean it. Sewage is filled with dangerous bacteria and fecal matter…..we had a sewer line back up in our basement, but the floor was concrete and it wasn’t a finished basement. It was disgusting!!!!

Оксана, это действительно по силам любому обывателю. Я уже дважды отдавала на стирку свои ковры ручной работы. Три ковра размерами 200х300 см. Их стирка стоила порядка двух тысяч рублей… Главное- хорошие отзывы о качестве работы!!!

I am astounded by the TARDIS-like ability of that carpet to hold what appears to be eight times it's actual volume in muck and dirt.

I believe that because we are working on a stone floor with no drainage, the only escape route for the dirt particles is laterally. I believe that the dirt particles move from side to side within the carpet fibers, so the dirty water is always coming out. I think it would be more efficient to use grating or a mesh floor so that dirt can escape downward.

It would ruin the carpet when it is being scrubbed to be on flooring like that. The fibers move as they are supposed to when on flat flooring like he uses.

@@francegamble1 the mesh must be slightly above the surface of floor. See all the dirt as the carpet is repeatedly moved. Save on labor as well. No need for a 30 minute video. See the same things over and over and over.....

Have you ever weighed a carpet before cleaning and again afterwards? Just curious about the dirt volume you remove. It looks like a whole stadium full of dirt, mold or whatever else is hiding in there. This one looked like it was full of demons and you were performing an exorcism on it lol. Yall are amazing!
