A fun little fact that I think you'll enjoy: cacao is actually a fruit! So that chocolate fabric is even fruitier than it may seem. 🙂 If I can find a fruity fabric I love... really leaning towards something citrusy, I think I'll make a sun hat out of it. Doesn't take much fabric, and my pasty skin needs all the help it can get to hide from the sun. Love love love the idea of the fruit-colored buttons. They made me happy just seeing them as you held them up.

If you're not inclined to make garments, that vibrant lemon fabric would really brighten up the kitchen or sewing area! Tea towels, oven gloves, baguette bag, apron, cutlery wrap for picnics, ironing board cover, sewing machine mat etc. I'm inspired!

With the lemon fabric I'd make a Sewing Bee Sleeveless Shell top - it's a free pattern and would be a great summer/holiday make and you should get it out of a metre

If you use the fruity buttons you could use green thread for the button holes and embroider leaves that look they’re attached to the ‘fruit’! Great ideas, thanks Sam xx

Fruity fabric just makes me smile! I love the idea of the chambray dress with the fruity buttons. I'm not sure if I have fruit buttons in my huge button stash. My daughter left me some fabric printed with apples to make any apron for her. That would be perfect for the challenge. I think I would make a shirt with the lemon fabric, it would look fab over white jeans and a white tshirt.

And you were so right (in the virtual sewing social)about me using some chambray for the Nell dress. I absolutely LOVE it! I’ll be on it as soon as I get my machine back from the repair shop! I feel like I’m missing an arm!

Love a sagebrush top. My favourite one, so far, is in a viscose with long sleeves.. Your fruity one is beautiful 😍

Ooh, it hadn't occurred to me to see what is in my quilting stash. Albeit my stash is made up of fat quarters. I have done my sew seven together using 2 of my subscription fabrics so the fruity challenge next. I have some subscription fabric with cherries, fruity labels and fruity bias binding. I am thinking of making the new Ellie and Mac Felicia dress.
