I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this video. It’s so detailed. Believe it or not, I learned soo much about sewing, fabrics and patterns by this one video. You did such a great job offering information about the thought process and the sewing process of all your garments. I wouldn’t change a thing about this video. NOT the length of it nor the content of it. Thank you soo much for sharing, I’m looking forward to another sew and tell video from you❣️

That was a bumper video. And a bumper year of makes. Like that you tried new things. And although not everything was a success, this overview shows a lot of wins. Well done you! Congratulations. Esp. when we take into account the crazyness that had the whole world in its grip aandon top of that your roller coaster of a still not yet move. 😽💕💕💕

Beautiful makes!!! I just wanted to share what I learned from another KZbinr about the pointy dart problem. I wish I could give credit by name, but the gal explained how you stitch the dart toward it’s ending point and instead of sewing off the folded edge of the fabric, you have to stop close to the end of the dart, pivot and stitch 1/4 inch parallel to the fold. I tried it myself and the dart comes out so differently. No ‘point’!!! You are an experienced sewist and probably already are familiar with this technique...but everyone should be shown this!!!! It is THE WAY!!!

So impressive to see all this year’s work in one place! I think my favorite make has to be the rainbow Gertie coat. It’s so ambitious and so well done. My least favorite is the colorblocked Mimi G dress, because I don’t like the shade of brown the dress uses. I think it clashes with the teal. I hope 2021 gives you chances to wear all the lovely things you’ve made!

🧡🧡🧡🧡 maxi shirt dress... beautiful. I'm obsessed with double shirt dresses right now. So lovely. I can't wait to make some.... most my sewing wishlist is open front shirt dresses I can mix and match over other outfits and layer to wear either in winter or summer or wear like a jacket.

Such an amazing year. So many beautiful garments. My favorites were the Gertie princess coats. I'm so glad you were so brave and did bound buttonholes. They're such a beautiful finish to a garment. Another favorite that stands out for me is the rainbow track suit. That is such a cute look on you. My least favorite would be the slouchy high low color blocking jumper you gifted to your niece.

Your so adorable, I loved alot of what you made. It's hard to pick a favorite, your dresses in the jungle print and the ones with pink and red. Some of your full body suits are cute on you. My least favorite, your lemon dress with the stripes. But it looks good on you. The parrot dress I still love that. You sew so beautifully, everything looks fabulous on you. I pray you can see yourself through our eyes. Great video Sian.

So many great items, the Gertie butterick dress really suits you and I like the look of the orange McCalls skirt. I've moved on from skinny jeans but the trouble is that slim fit or more loose jeans don't look as dressy - more suited to trainers. This was fun to watch to see what a variety of patterns look like on a real person. Happy new year, looking forward to seeing what you make this year.

Ha! Only just got around to watching this - I LOVED seeing everything together...I felt quite exhausted by the end, but in a good way. 😀 Also, I think that so many of the sweaters you showed early on in the video would go so well with your red and denim skirts. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what you get up to in 2021! 💜

Thx. I love those mccall sleeves.... I have a swim cover wrap I wear with those sleeves and I've decided to make some because it makes for a great kind of top coat or kimono type layer with open front long dresses and in winter looks cute with long sleeves layered under it.

I did enjoy this video immensely! I loved the rainbow jogging suit, all the lemon things-the Wanted Tees all, the gable tees, your favorite dress is pretty much my fav of your dresses, (but honestly tough to pick one, so so many lovely’s). I loved all of French terry with the skirts. There was just so much to like/love. I am hard pressed to think of anything that deserved a not like, nah nothing. Oh one more, I love the Tory Burch, I had a thing this year of making Tommy Hilfigeresq (like) not even trying. That was the summer, so I actually appreciate emulating something done by a designer. At times it’s intentional, but sometimes I’ll notice long after it’s done. Anyway Bravo to you, I’m exhausted trying to imagine how hard you work! Oh and I really like how candid you are about what you like and don’t like about your makes, it’s so authentic. I really appreciate people that keep it real. Thanks again for all you did this year to produce such high quality content. The sewing world truly made my life bearable, it’s been a rough one. I went through nearly all the stressors you should try to avoid doing more than one. Death of a parent, divorce, moving (from another hemisphere), buying real estate. Haha the only thing I didn’t do is have a baby. Oh yeah I forgot , I’m too old for that. Thanks so much you’re amazing !👗👗🧵🧵🧵✂️🧷💯❤️👑💝🙌

It has to be the princess coats for me, you tackling that pattern and making such a success of it has given me the confidence to go for it, least favourite? I don’t have one! And that’s not me chickening out, I suppose if I really had to choose I would say the vogue v1773, I think because I know how much hassle that bodice caused you and I’m not keen on the very high neckline on that dress but as a skirt it’s fabulous xxxx

You were so productive this year! Even if not all the experiments worked out as hoped, I'd call your 2020 very successful. I can't really pick a favourite dress even though I love quite a few (mostly because I'm pants at remembering pattern numbers and it is past 1am 😆) but the princess coats are amongst my favourites for sure, especially the trenchcoat version. Personally, I can't really get behind the Scirocco. It just is totally not my style of garment and gives me too many 80s vibes. (I do not have good associations with that fashion decade. Love a lot of the music though.) But you enjoy wearing them and that's really what counts. ❤️ Random thought on the matter of finding a slouchy-ish sweater of dreams - have you thought about something like the TATB Coco? It's a looser fit but has a bit of shaping for the waist before flaring out for the hips. You can further accentuate the waist by adding fisheye darts; I always put them in the back on my dress versions. I've made top and dress versions in sweatshirting, so that definitely works even though it's intended more for jerseys. The length obviously isn't the best over skirts (which slouchy sweater is?) but might be a perfect comfort option over warm leggings and the like if that's still I style you're considering. (This thought just crossed my mind. Maybe I just need to go to bed.)

All your makes are so unique! I loved seeing them all together. I wonder if you could change the knit Anderson Blouses into cardigans by just removing/unpicking the waistband so it's not a cross over/wrap anymore and either detaching the waist band/altering it? I think I'll definitely get the Wanted Tee pattern now too, I love all your versions. The thing I love the most about Scuba fabrics is that the prints always look so vibrant! The colour block Mimi G/DVF dress shouldn't work, but it DOES! I think the darker band across the hips and white skirt IS flattering, so don't change it! I also know you dislike your Nautical Sirocco but I really think it looks good on you - however, if you don't feel right in it, it won't be worn and that's that.

All of them are lovely. My least favorite would be the color blocked print dress which you don't seem to like. I think the pattern paired with the fabric makes the dress look a little like a costume - German dirndl, maybe? Your choices of prints and colors are masterful.

I think the MimiG Simplicity 8547 needs a darker colour on the bottom instead of white, as the white is too sharp against the other muted colours of this dress. The shape of this dress suits you. Maybe a natural/bone/cream would work better with the other colours.

There is only one garment that I really do not like and that's the mccalls7537.It reminds me of a dress Julie Andrews would have worn in the Sound of music while singing on the mountains. It's like a fancy dress costume rather than a wearable dress. You've made it beautifully but I ,personally, don't like it. Wow - very impressive. You have made a lot of lovely things. I am a bit sad that you don't wear some of the nice jumpers and tops from earlier in the year. Have you tried them with your new skirts? I imagine at least some would work very well. I also thought your twirls in the jeans looked really good and don't get why you don't like them. Personal taste is a strange thing and very tied in with body image and so on, and it's of course always most important to wear things that you feel happy in and not what others like. My favourites include the Gable Tees in lovely colours and prints, the Carline dress and the Underwater coat. My least favourite is the parrot dress: I don't think that print is suited to being used at a bodice - it's too novelty and too singular, so when worn it stands out too much and becomes more of a costume and less of a garment. I do think it could work as a long panelled skirt: you wouldn't see all of the print all of the time, but would get flashes of it.
