Yes, that solid color dress is your style, but it does need some waist gathering. I love the fact that you added the special design stitch on the neck. Just add you to it!

The 1st blouse sown: - just a suggestion, use your French Curve 'convex' positioned down the front openings & cut along your seam line. 1stly put the F.C. up against yourself to see the actual amount it should curve towards the centre. The amount, you'll find will be quite minimal. Here's wishing you & family have a wonderful Christmas Day. Will be looking for your next vlog N.Yr.. I enjoy them very much.

Your last dress deserves to be taken out dancing! I just found your channel. Really enjoyed. I'm 67 and it reminds me of the feminine styles of the 70s. I would have worn the heck out of that dress. You are so talented

Hi Sian, I’ve had college training, 3 year course at Medway college of art and design many years ago. Your right on the bad fit pattern issue. It’s about time we all complain about it. They aren’t cheap to buy and not helpful for beginner seamstresses. When I’m using a new pattern I’ll always measure the pattern piece to check on fit. If it’s fitted I’ll make a muslin first. The way you are fitting your clothes for you is perfect. There are many ways in which to fit a garment. You make some stunning clothing and your fit is spot on. Love watching your KZbin videos. Happy Christmas to you and your family 🎄🤩

Hi Siân!! Wow, amazing job.. Beach Pj’s, Red dress & Teal dress are my favorites of all.. Your dresses fit is amazingly & looks amazing on you.. Thank you for pointing out about the pattern sizes compared to a real fit in what you’ve shown about a true fit…. 💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵

I think my favorite is the 7974 (properly fitted version). The 9199 in the fabric Rachel sent you is also very pretty.

Maybe you could add a lace panel to M7659 as well as fully line it. Also I agree that the top of the bishop sleeves need more puff.

If you go back to the drawing board on the M7659, you might want to consider that the facing roll problem may be caused, at least partially, by the ”too snug upper arm” you mentioned. It is a beautiful top. As a new subscriber, I am enjoying watching all your videos and will admit that I have waistline envy. LOL

That's a very productive end of the year you had. I like the last dress you made best, simply because the colour is most 'mine'. I also really enjoy the solid dress and the decorative topstitching turned out to be a beautiful feature. Safe travels tomorrow! ❤️

Amazing! Beautiful looks! I do love the style of the V8972. I still like the McCall's 8167. Lovely color on you! It offers so many possibilities to accessorize depending on the event or weather. I have also struggled with facing curl. I have noticed in ready-to-wear there's sometimes a narrow slightly stretchy piece of clear elastic (not sure what to call it) in the neck area which I think is there prevent stretching. (I've never seen this product in retail stores.) You look great! I have also had some weight loss success with a combination keto/calorie count approach. I sewed in the waist of a number of my pants, so they don't sag, but like you, I am waiting to see where I settle to sew new trousers. Thank you so much for your channel. Best wishes to you and your family in the new year. ❤

Can people please stop telling you to cut the size indicated on the package? The whole point of sewing for yourself is to be able to make dresses custom fit to your body and preferences. Your adjustmentsa re for fit, definitely NOT in a way that complete changes the style.
