I can relate so well to your flounce dress journey. I've had projects that didn't seem to want to work no matter what I did. And fitting sleeves is not the easiest thing to do! It helps knowing you'll be able to put your lovely fabric to good use for your daughter. I'm so glad you had such a delightful hat to offset your dress. You definitely have a gift for piecing and maximizing your beautiful fabrics. The reverse side is just as lovely. I've never made a hat, but your hat makes me want to give it a try.

Oh, Kim, what a lot of work you did on your dress. So sorry it didn't work out. You have more patience than I do. My alterations never seem to work out for the better. I do love the fabric but I think you're right about that shade of yellow on you. The pinks and blues are really good. I hope your daughter gets something nice out of the lemons. The hat is fabulous and it really is cute on you. Happy you had a big win. Enjoy your sunshine. We are getting a few days of very hot weather after not much of a summer here in Olympia, Washington. I'm ready for the clouds again!

@@kathymcconville6428 Thanks Kathy. Rachel, my daughter, always seems to benefit from my mishaps! So she's happy. Lemon on her works really well as she blonde. Though I'm trying, since COVID, to learn about fitting and adapting patterns and sewing more practice toiles, which can be time consuming, as fabric, well the ones I like, seem to be expensive, so I'm trying to do the right thing and do a test garment before cutting into my previous fabric. I'm definitely an Autumn girl. My fair skin struggles in the sun, but even so I'd like more than 3 days. Though I doubt very much we could cope with very hot sun here. Us Brits think anything over 25⁰ (77f) is hot!! 🥵 ❤️

Oh my, your bucket hat is brilliant, truly a thing of beauty, I agree a must have for the garden centre, mine isn’t so I can be found, it just fits in my bag easily, and as it is always raining, these days, I can whip it out and save my hair 😂. R.I.P lemon dress, it truly wasn’t your colour, you need to make summer bunting, or napkins with it, your blouse is far superior, beautiful, I love it! The food festival sounded yummy. Sending hugs.

@@stash_stitcher Just back from Will’s birthday barbie, and I think you are on to something with Noah’s ark, we had torrential rain, wind, thunder, lightning, cold, beautifully shining warm sun, rainbows and would you believe it more rain! We truly didn’t know whether we were coming or going, I think we needed weatherproofing ! That said they still managed to play in the pool 🥶

Thanks Vanessa. The fabric will suit my daughter better with her lovely blonde hair. It's funny when you put something on and it makes you feel lacklustre, so I'm not too bothered. Bothered about the amount of time spent on toiles. Learnt a valuable lesson! ❤️
