I used to make dolls out of socks when I was in High School (back in the 1960's). They taught us how in Home Economics, when I was in the 9th grade. The socks we have today are not the same as the ones that were available back then. We even made sock monkeys out of men's work socks. Where you could buy men's gray or brown work socks (with the red heels) today, I don't know. The first doll is always the hardest one to make. You will get faster with each doll.

I love this project! I am in a quilt guild in the Toledo, Ohio area. This is one of the worst areas in the US for human trafficking. I think my friends and I would love to help out this cause! Just a word of advice - the heat erasable pens do leave marks that can show up again when the fabric gets cold. You might want to try very light pencil or another marking method, just in case. Thanks for sharing this pattern and the Enchanted Makeovers info.

I wore braces on my legs too. I also sew my doll’s legs forward. Oh the little traumas that form us. 😂 🌈🌈🦋🦋

45 years ago i made each of my kids and nieces and nephews a Raggedy Ann or Andy, 6 total. It was really a labor of love. This pattern is very nice! And simple.
