I love how there’s this subculture of people who sew historical clothing and are aware of the amazing company that is American Duchess. Thanks for making this video, I’ll use it as a reference as I work on my own dress!

Thank you so much for making this video! I've been eyeing this exact pattern and wondering how it worked up. You've convinced me to give it a go!

I got the Vienna in brown! Mine are still coming in, Canadian customs and all that! Loving the dress, I'm looking forward to venturing a bit into regency but right now I am solidly in the 1890s :D

Awesome! They are comfy! I have late Victorian plans myself!

@@PocketFullofPoseys I have often been a size 12 in shoes but after learning aboutthe traditional way shoes fit from their podcasts and wearing a size 11 pair of heels recently and finding the glove like fit much better than th loose one, I decided to risk the sale!

Love the dress. I attend and make my Renaissance costumes and that would be great. Love the boots. You have a long foot but I have a fat, short, high arch foot, not sure I could wear those but I may order some.
@PocketFullofPoseys4 жыл бұрын
They are comfortable boots. I actually have a wide foot, so I ordered up a size from my normal shoe size.

I am making this dress now. For anyone else who has made this pattern in the plus sizes (20-30), did you find the sleeves to be exceptionally long?
@PocketFullofPoseys Жыл бұрын
I didn't make this one in plus size, but I have made a different Black Snail Regency pattern and found the sleeves to be too long.
@KatrinaGressett Жыл бұрын
@@PocketFullofPoseys oh thank you, it's my first regency pattern and I wasn't sure if I should forge ahead or redraft the sleeves. Guess I'll redraft them. 😀

OK, I have a "process" question, if you don't mind: I have watched you do this several times, just HOW do you get the stitch in and then able to pull to make the gathers of the skirt.....my Mama used to do this but she never showed me just how to do it!!!
@PocketFullofPoseys4 жыл бұрын
I sew two rows of stitches 1/4 inch apart using the longest stitch length on my machine, which is 4.5. I don't backstitch and cut the threads at the end of the stitching long. Then I grab both of the bobbin threads on one side and start slowly pulling and gathering the fabric to the length I need. I try not to pull too hard so the threads don't break. Lighter fabrics are easier.
