You will need to let the bias shorts hang so the hem can relax. Whitney with Tomkat Stitchery has a great video on how to hem bias. Fun flowers!

Its always good to see 👀♥️, i'm working on a cosplay pattern Butterick B6114 in medium color blue denim , midweight & the lightest denim weight shirt fabric view D & A , along with a upcycle denim skirt , from pants into a mermaid skirt style , i'm also working on 2 dresses , McCall's M8361, along with vintage Vogue style dress V8146 & vintage dress Butterick 6402 , sleeves only to add to the Vogue dress , its coming along pretty well , thanks for the nice video ❤😊

If you go to Fabric Place Basement semi regularly, there's a shop on the way Stitch Sew Shop that prints A0 patterns.

I like where you are going with the Ankara and floofy lace! I propose that you make that for your prom chaperone ensemble instead, so that you have time to execute it the way those fabulous fabrics deserve. The Vicki sews dress is absolutely adorable! I'm currently working on a little 'dress a girl around the world' frock. Trying to sew down my stash of quilting cottons, so that apparel fabric can claim that space! 😅

Thank you, and that's great advice, I agree it may be best to leave the gorgeous fabric for another time when I'll actually be able to devote time to making the garments to the best of my ability :) I love that you are already fitting in #ProjectDressAGirl dresses, what a wonderful use of your amazing fabric stash!

It's all coming along great, good work on the toiles - what a head scratcher. I've never used Viki sews, only getting access to one size is a pain, all that taping 🤪 Have you tried cutting the corners off each piece of paper? I don't remember where I learnt that trick but it really helps x

Hi Tanya! Thank you so much, it's been a slow steady process, and for some reason, when my year starts off with this sort of intentional sewing I feel like I'm setting myself up for success for the rest of the year, so I am excited that I fought the urge to just dive into the fashion fabric and committed to trying more toiles. YES, I found that cutting only two corners off works best for me, because I them have a lip on the previous pattern to align everything, it helped a LOT! Looking forward to seeing your sewing progress as well, I've loved your videos also!

Hi I think Vicki sews will let you exchange one pattern if U have the wrong size. I also usually ask them to recommend a size if I am unsure ❤

I really love your work, well done! I only bought one VikiSews Fernanda blazer pattern, but it just does not work for me, I don't like having to repurchase a different size, don't like taping together either...just too much trouble, I can get printed pattern with multisizes..but glad you made it work!!

I’m super excited for the wedding prep. You can make an high neck frufri raglan sleeve top and a beautiful long skirt from the Ankara fabric. I have plans for a suit swirling around in my head.

Thank you Estelle! I'm certainly thinking long maxi for the Ankara skirt also! I like the idea of the frufri fabric on top as the bodice, I would love to be able to highlight the scallop detail in some way. But I think I'll put it to the side for now and revisit it for another occasion when I have a bit more time to really work out the design and execution. What kind of suit are you thinking of? are you gonna join us on the satin suit train?? I know it''l be gorgwous what ever you come up with!

Rhats crazy. You have to buy the pattern twice because the aiE wasnt just right? I dont think i can ever buy a pattern from her but i guess people think is ok. I sont know why.

This is my confusion, I have heard of pattern companies giving you limited sizes, but may toss in the size above or below to help you with grading. I've been told we can reach out to Vicki Sews (which we didn't) so maybe that's on us. But on the pattern website, it says you can exchange the pattern if your did not download it yet, but we had to download it to make it, but yeah, certainly something to consider.
