Thank you so much, Kenisha! The fatigue was/is real, but seeing and other creative pursuits really are so joyous to work on. I would’ve liked a bit more time to ease back in or take my time with some on these, the the wedding deadline did require a bit of hustle in the end, so happy I got them done!

Thank you so much, Christine! I really appreciate it! Honestly, the modest panel insert felt like a tiny, but impactful, triumph! It allows me to wear the silhouette I like while still keeping my modesty all in one garment without having to find an undergarment each time! I’m thrilled everything worked out well in the end

After I have kids, I am going to need to come back and watch this. The grace and acceptance of things are slower and that’s okay. I am a slow sewest anyway, so just accepting that it may be even slower ahead of time seems like a good idea.

You got this! The acceptance of things as they are has been a great mind shift for me. I think my entire sewing journey this year, with the bridal sewing projects for my best friend, have taught me to go slowly and get used to redoing things when needed. I am embracing the slow sews during this season of my life- I’m hopeful it’ll result in some memorable makes

We are really lucky in Canada for the most part either of the parents can stay home with the baby for up to 18 months. We are very fortunate. Great idea!! I feel like I own a pair of these, because I saw them at the store once and felt like someone was looking out for me personally lol. Of course as luck would have it, I forgot it the weekend of the wedding, but the temperatures were cooler than expected and I actually was fine without them for this event. But I’ll def have to keep the dress shields in mind for future high summer makes

Your bridesmaid dress is absolutely gorgeous. A question about nursing in your dress. Do you plan on nursing at the wedding? If so how will he access? Im looking into nursing friendly options for formal wear myself. Thanks

Thank you so much, Cheryl, and congratulations on your baby boy as well, I hope you’re still loving the infant stage😊 your too kind, and I hope you continue enjoying the sewing and problem solving process (I sometimes find myself doing more problem solving than sewing with my makes lol) and taking it one project at a time and learning with each garment! I did not make the bridesmaid dress nursing friendly, because I had someone at the wedding to help me with the baby and we were at a venue with rooms where I could go and nurse him/ pump in private. However, I did consider it, and what I though to do was to have something that was a button front dress, or to take a pattern that has a center front seam and insert a center front invisible zipper, or I was considering something with princess seams and I was going to insert invisible zippers into the princess seams. Those all felt like good adaptations for dress patterns I already owned, to make them nursing friendly. Crystal from @mysewcialthread on YT and IG has some great nursing friendly dress hack options on her channel that may help also. Thanks so much for your comment!
