I just bought this machine on FB Marketplace but what I didn’t anticipate was that the previous owner was a smoker. Even the box with the attachments stick as well as the instruction manual! Will be watching all your videos on how to clean her up! Thanks for all you do!

How cool! Love how well the 403A makes a zig zag stitch, you will too! Good luck with your restoration!

buy or borrow an ozone generator and run it in a confined space with the machine and accessories

I personally don't think such a video could ever be too long so I truly appreciate you going over the functionality of this vintage machine so clearly. In fact, do you have a video where you wind bobbin? That would be incredibly helpful as I'm a complete beginner and want to learn how to use these lovely models that are unlike the modern versions of today!

Hi! I don’t have a bobbin winding video for this model but it should be the same or very similar to the Singer 404 or 401A. There are some videos for those models on KZbin if you search. I hope that helps!

It really is a nice machine! The 400 series is underrated, they were great machines to sew on.

@@SewingMachineRehab Not as good looking at the 301’s but love the 2 tone brown on the vintage SINGERS ♥️🧵

Thank you so much for doing this video! I inherited my grandma's same singer machine and it came along with the desk. I know she always wanted me to have her machine. I just had it tune up and just waiting for a new peddle for the machine. I can't wait to use and learn. I was wondering how to remove the plate (under the needle).

How cool to have your Grandmother’s machine! I would recommend looking at Andy Tube, he has some videos on these machines (and the 404, very similar) and he will show you how to do it. One of these days I will get to some videos on these models as well! I hope that helps and happy sewing!

Oh that I have! I have a controling friend to tell me to get rid of the machine and I'm like, "Are you crazy? This is when they know how to make these awesome machines." I was wondering, do you know what the power cord is? I thought to try to find a part online somewhere. I just need to figure out the correct size. Looks like mine has 2 prongs. @@SewingMachineRehab

How does one set the pesser foot tension? Have searched but, can't find that info for my 403A.
@SewingMachineRehab9 ай бұрын
Hi! If you mean that the presser foot does't have enough pressure then you adjust that by turning the big thumbscrew on the top of the machine. It is on the back left top side. Let me know if that is the information you were looking for!

Would the accessories for the 503, in particular the cams, work with the 403.

Hi! You know, I am not sure. Hopefully you found your answer and I'm sorry I couldn't help!
