How lovely to make curtains for your Grandads boat 🙏💞... I'm sure you'll do a fab job 😁👌. What about a mini skirt for the sateen fabric or a funky jacket if you have enough. The fabric with faces is gorgeous isn't it and if you choose a fairly simple garment, the matching won't be too bad I'm sure 👍.... enjoy 😁💝😘

For you granddads shirts, I would get a pattern! DIBY has the Mens Basic Tee pattern for free! I think it will work better then trying to make your own from his stretched out old shirts. I do like the fabric that you choose for his shirt. I really like what you are planning to make and I am looking forward to seeing you make your chosen garments. Regards Christine 🙋♀️🇦🇺👍🏻👗👖👕😃😄😍

I've just bought that face fabric too! And I'm going to attempt the lyra dress with it but hadn't even considered I'd have to pattern match 😅 I'm sure we can both do it! French Terry is beautiful BTW! 😍

If you use your notches on the pattern and place them say on the top of the eye on the front edge of your bodice side piece and then place it for your back bodice pattern piece at that same point you should end up with the pattern falling at the same place for front and back of your shirt.

Cotton sateen is good for trousers or a fitted dress or skirt because it has that little bit of give. Had you thought about the True Bias Shelby for the viscose? Good luck with the curtains! There must be loads of tutorials on You Tube to show you how the make them. Choosing a plan fabric will make it easier.

I love how colorful all your fabrics are! Pattern matching is all about visualizing how everything goes together with the pattern pieces before cutting out! I followed a good Craftsy class once about it that was helpful, but Idk if you have Craftsy. There are probably lots of YT tutorials. Looking forward to seeing the finished top!

The pattern matching is all in the cutting out. It's very fiddley, but you can do it!

Just think of all the different types of clothes you can make to fit in with your 2 jobs now. For the sateen you could go more structured as it has stretch or a shirt dress, or trousers aye? Love the faces fabric.
