I’m just like you, the only fabric I like is the ones you shouldn’t sew as a beginner. Chiffon georgette cotton jersey madness. I guess we just started back to front 😂😂😂

I love seeing something real, your struggles will help me avoid certain pitfalls. I realise that for my shape I will need a smaller size for shoulders and neckline and a larger size for the corset and waist and taper the side seams to pull my frankensew together. Your annoyance at the noises off stage really cracked me up. Banging vid thank you. Off course you look sweet and lovely in your frock!

No way! I just discovered the podcast in December and have been going through the back catalogue, what a treat to discover a KZbin archive too!

It was interesting! Your career sounds very demanding - the variety of tasks, the travel, the scheduling, yikes. No one can blame you for not having time for KZbin. That said, a simple to-camera video like this monthly reviewing your makes, process and ideas with your other socials as reference would also be interesting!

Love chatty vlogs like this. I’d love to hear about the usher outfit process. Also, when you mention something like the Ganni (?) inspired top, could you put in an example of the original for people who might be living under a rock (or in other countries like me)😂 Hope you’re back soon.

I'm a long time subscriber, and I was so happy that your video popped up in my feed tonight! It was such an enjoyable half hour watching and listening to what you've been sewing in 2023! That purple velvet dress is incredible!!! It's amazing how the fabric choice elevated that pattern!! I love the blue trousers, and was so relieved that you ended up liking them too! I would love to see a monthly makes video, even if there's only one item in any given month. You're lots of fun to listen to, and you're super inspirational! Also, I tell sewing vloggers this all the time. Relax about posting videos. Sewing is a creative hobby, so it's ok to ebb and flow. We're always here for you!

I just discovered you with this video. Going to go check out some more! I'm not a YT-er/content creator, but I've heard from others that doing the YT Shorts are a little easier to keep up with, and help keep you in the algorithm. Maybe that would help YT be more manageable for you?

Oh Ellie you do make me laugh! Great to see a summary of what you made and would love to know what you’re planning on making in 2024 (and how on earth you’re going to find the time to sew half of your fabric stash!)

For topstitching you can always use the lighter colour if you cant find a match for the base colour, and use a sharpie to colour match the thread after, just test on a scrap of fabric first ;) For the zip issue, you can also use an open ended zip like on coats

Hi Elle, lovely to see you back on the channel, and go you, great dress. It would have been acceptable to use ribbon on the shoulder seam. Also, for quickness, when you are overlocking, line up the garment so you can easily go from one seam to the next - saves time and overlocker thread. Then simply trim in between. I like the effect you create with the different threads, I so do that too. I was with you on the unpicking of the side seam - I would have made the same error in my haste to get it together to try on. So you don't burn the fabric, put a pressing cloth over what you are working on. It could be something as simple as a hankerchief. By the way, really really enjoy hearing you and Hazel talking on the podcast, you are so fun together. All the best to you and Hazel for 2023 - love from Heather, New Zealand x

I have followed you since nearly the start of your channel, and you are amazing! I love how fearless you are, and how you take all the mistakes in stride as part of the learning process. I am super impressed with your toile process! I have sewn for years and years, and I am learning from you! I need to pluck up the courage and finally try some jeans and fly zippers! Oh, and fitting as well, lol! You did a great job!
