I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this video (while I was washing the dishes 😁)! The best kind of window shopping, for sure! I really appreciate seeing all the gorgeous clothes and pattern suggestions for getting a similar look, since I won't be spending 3 grand on one piece of clothing anytime soon!

@@crumpetsteaandsewing I have Simplicity 9239, a jacket pattern, and thought maybe I'd make it in a fake suede - last year I made a long cardigan from a slate blue fake suede Joann Last Chance fabric and it was much easier to work with than I realized it would be - I didn't hem any of the edges (and there are lots of edges on a long cardigan!) and I was thinking this jacket might work well with that kind of fabric, too - have to see what's hiding in my stash...🧐. A couple of years ago I bought a beige fake suede at Joann on clearance - it was fringed, but I can just cut the fringe off because that's not something I think would look right on this jacket.

Exactly!!! Many of these "trends" were around when I was a teenager. So I'm definitely hanging on to my favorite patterns.

Oh Boy! What an informative video- Good job! I was happy to see a pattern I've had for quite some time but haven't sewn yet- V1620! I am just getting back into sewing after a couple of DECADES but I look forward to restarting in this phase of my life. Your price comparisons reminded me of one the reasons I am getting back in. I loved this video. It has my juices flowing. I had gotten in a rut trying to put together some outfits for fall/winter and I think this video really helped. This year I have thrifted a suede pair of pants, a suede shirt and a suede skirt as well as a pair of genuine leather pants for a total of $50. That RL sweater makes me temped to pick up my knitting needles again. As far as sewing goes, I really want to make a full midaxi skirt and now you’ve inspired me to make butterick b6840 so thank you!

Love the video, I am new to your channel. I understand your focus on sizing, but I also wish you would feature patterns with cup sizes. I get tired of doing fba, and I know the mainstream pattern companies have a few patterns with large cup sizes options.

I am thrilled about this video!! Exactly what I wanted. HOWEVER, I am struggling Hard with the lack of Independent patterns? I do sew with a few of the big 4 but I have such better outcomes with some Independent pattern companies. I wish I knew all the patterns they have so I could cross reference but I don't. Are we not going to have any Independent pattern information at all??
