Happy birthday Karen, and I also promised I wouldn't buy any more patterns and material but caved! I bought the Hovea jacket by Megan Neilson in a hope that I could make it whilst trying out my new dress form. I have so far made 2 camisole tops with crepe material - what a nightmare that was but I was reasonably pleased with the outcome. I have also made the t&tb Dominique skirt and another t&tb top, the one with the ties at the back. I am quite pleased with myself as I am learning and the sewing community is so nice, I don't feel I am on my own as there is so much help/advice. Love the vlogs and look forward to them so much xxx

Blimey you've done so well - you are obviously dedicated to getting 'stuff' done. Yes, you are right there is nothing that you can't look up amongst the sewing community - there's always someone who has made a garment before and reviewed it, it's fab - I'm not sure how my mam managed to learn to sew but looking back I think she must have been a talented lady with only the daft cartoons on the big 4 pattern instructions for help (they are Useless!) happy sewing lovely 🥰xx

Yes I definitely get overwhelmed. I remember as kid, sitting on the floor in a big oldy fashion fabric shop and the floor had sparkle lino, I was in heaven and I was only 6 or 7 years old. I don't think I could ever be as good as some at sewing but I can be as good as I can! @@karensewsslowly

Hi Karen! I'm American and hard of hearing, so I thought you said you made "house bloomers." And I thought what on earth are house bloomers? I cracked up when you showed the adorable mouse bloomers 🤣 I'm so glad the cost of shipping subscription boxes is such that I barely have FOMO. I also need more meterage for my height and size. I think the Safiya trousers are a fabulous idea...so floaty and nice. I think that much black near your face is too harsh. And you're lovely with or without makeup. Hope you're feeling better next week!.

The Dani jacket would be lovely in your fabric it’s fabulous. I have the sew Hayley Jane subscription box, however I did suffer FOMO with all the Think Pink unboxings and left Hayley for a couple of months in favour of think pink, then went back to Hayley 🤣🤣 i personally find Hayley’s box good value and I use the fabric quickly or at least try to, currently having a clear out and destash 🤣🤣🤣

Hi Carol, when I think of the all the fabric being ordered, sitting in stashes, being destashed and arriving at homes via subscriptions etc it's like a huge fabric treadmill - I bet the sewing community could keep the Royal Mail going alone without all the other bits and pieces. One main reason I do not get subscription boxes is the amount of fabric they put in the box is not enough for my size. I like midi length or long length dresses.

I was like you about the pink door subscription box. I now have quite a few unused fabrics that aren't enough to make a dress, so this month I have cancelled it!! I've got the sew Hayley Jane luxury box instead which gives us a pattern and 3.5 m of fabric. Xxxx

Hi Sue, yes I've considered this box too, but think I will given myself and my stash a break for a bit - just keep chipping away at what I've got in my fabric and pattern stash. 3.5m would definitely be enough for me to make a dress etc so it's worth giving a bit more thought to. Happy birthday Karen. I got the pink colour way this month. A number of us have mentioned to Andrea about having the option of subscribing to a box with a longer length of fabric. 2.5 meters is not enough for me to make a dress but it took much to make a blouse so I get a lot of waste

That's such a good idea - perhaps when Andrea gets settle in her new home over here she can change it up a bit - I know she sometimes struggle to buy enough fabric to make everyone the same but I really wouldn't mind a different fabric as long as I had enough to make a dress. 🥰xx
