Just stunning in every way. I knew I would love it because I find all Jibid's work utterly inspiring... but this seems to speak to my soul. I cried all the way through the video at its sheer beauty but also it captures so many cadences of my childhood and life. The coincidences are amazing. My grandmother met Beatrix Pottet and visited the Lake District often. She read all the stories to me and Tom kitten was my favourite. She taught me to sew, knit and embroider and I have an embroidered lady very similar to the one in the book. She kept a book with fabric and lace off cuts too. Forget-me -knot blue waas her favourite colour too. But what I love most about this is the clarity of vision, the sheer care, passion and joy in every careful stitch. To have something so precious is an unbelievable privilege and it will be treasured always. Heartfelt thanks.xx

Catherine Brown you are are such a treasure yourself catherine, it was my privelage to be part of your journey into your childhood, and i thank you for that. I so love that Tom Kitten is your favourite! We used to read that one so often, as you can imagine with four boys, i think they identified a lot with tom ;) sending hugs, jibid xXx

X!!!!! What an amazing journal, Jibid! Lucky Catherine to have such a priceless heirloom. My mother and her unmarried sister who lived with us all through our childhood were both seamstresses so the notions, dress forms, pattern papers and vintage sewing images take me right back to my childhood. I can smell the cottons and fabric dust even now. If you were ever to be shipwrecked on a desert island, you would need nothing more than this journal which, of course, you would have held high above the waves as you swam, one handed, towards the shore. For contained within are your thread tails, needles, buttons and scissors so you could clothe yourself and any other island inhabitants in wonderful, colourful creations. When not stitching, you could fill the pages with all the exciting adventures you get up to whilst waiting to be rescued and you could wile away the evenings feeding your soul with uplifting quotations. And on the subject of feeding, you could gorge yourself everyday on coconuts, bananas berries and nuts. Even if you put on a little bit of weight, you would never know because after all, you only tiny snippets of tape measures :-) In fact, if you see a passing ship, wave it on. Who wants rescuing when you are having such an idyllic time....haha!!

My grandmother was also a seamstress and made lots of clothes for my dolls- I still have them and most of them brings back memories because they're made out of scraps of fabrics that she'd used to make clothes for herself and myself as well :) even the buttons makes me think of a certain clothing she used to wear. I am new to watching your channel, and have on a watching binge of a video or two for the last week or so. I would like to suggest a theme, though it might not be something that most people do not relate to or enjoy. But I used to, when I was younger...in my thirties, and more able bodied. Wild caving. Not tourist attraction caving, but caves out in the woods that haven't been seen by many. I used to enjoy it with my late husband and a few well chosen friends. It is a completely different experience then tourist cave walks, with lots of crawling, climbing over breakdown and rappelling.
