I get many E's regarding different specific problems with machines or a bad stitch. Without being there to see exactly how the machine is set up it is hard to diagnose a certain machine or problem. So I figured I would hit all the basics to try to resolve many common problems on many different machines. NOTE Crazy Short Cut Quilts is the channel I was refering to, not Crazy Mixed Up..

I inherited my grandmothers sewing machine, that she used to make my baby clothes on and when my modern brother sewing machine died because it’s made of plastic. I pulled my grandmas out and I didn’t know how to use it. So thank you. It means so much to me.

Thank you for sharing this! I have the white model 967 and inherited it from my grandmother… you showed me what I was doing wrong with the tensioner and this has solved the problem I’ve been struggling with for a while!! Much appreciated!

I have to thank you! I bought a White sewing machine model 642 today. I have been looking for the last four hours trying to find a manual (mine didn't have one, as I bought it at a thrift store). I'm a complete newbie and had never knew how to tread the machine, and was having a really hard time figuring it out. Thanks a bunch!!!

I got a second hand White 764 in the '70s when I was in high school. Still sews a treat. It only had a muddy photo copied manual, so on occasion I've checked the local online want ads for one. Recently I saw an original manual for $20. I thought it was a bit pricy until I realized this was for the manual AND the machine. So now I have two 764s and couldn't be more pleased.

I absolutely love your voice! I was given a white 764 and haven’t used it yet as I’m used to my viking from 1970’s. Thank you for the very detailed and soothing voice instructional video! Subscribed 😀

Thank you! I have a Viking machine from the early '60s, I think, and it came with the original table, cams, and accessories, but no manual. This is super helpful. (NOT Husqvarna viking - Eaton's Department Store used Viking as its house brand, like Kenmore for Sears. It's basically a White 9951/9953.)

My machine is the White 769 - same look, but must have some different feature? Anyway, I love this machine so much. My mom bought it new in the 60's and passed to on to me about 20 years ago. I actually used it in one of my KZbin videos :) I plugged it in tonight though, and it blew our house fuse. Whoops. Hopefully I'll be able to get it repaired because I can't imagine replacing something that has served so faithfully for 45+ years. Fun to watch your video on the machine!

Love the video. I have this machine as well. One thing I'm a little unclear on. You mention the bobbin drops in clockwise, but the manual says counter-clockwise. Would you confirm?

Your video helped me so much, thank you! My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was little, but I haven't touched a sewing machine in years, so you saved me in figuring our how to get the bobbin in. I am having a problem with the stitch width dial. It doesn't move at all, is it supposed to turn to the different numbers? the reverse button works, but i can't budge the stitch width dial at all. Any thoughts?

I had the same sewing machine! Great machine. I screwed up and one of the bars on the bottom got loose and the plastic gear someone below mentioned broke! The whole thing was metal but this one part! I searched and found one online but could never get it to match back up. Would buy another but worried about that plastic gear part.

I have a White 764 that runs great, but I can't get it to sew in zig zag. Any suggestions? Want to buy it for parts if I am unable to get zig zag to work?

My upper tension popped off the machine while I was adjusting the tension. How do I put it back on correctly; there is no step by step in my old manual book for the white 764

If you have the manual or a photo of the part, you can make one from a 3d printer.
