Watching this made me feel so much better about the speed at which I hand stitch. It's so hard to gauge sewing speed when watching edited videos and how many hours go into a project when it all gets condensed down into 30 min videos, so I really appreciate this

I highly recommend add "the Hogfather" to your Christmas viewing list. A fantastic introduction to Terry Pratchett. Also the radio play on BBC for Small Gods is short and sweet and generally delicioiusly Sir Pterry

A long time ago…. When my children were young.. (they’re in there 30’s now, ). I went and did a Glamor Shots photography thing…. When I got the finished photo canvas and showed my family.. my then 5 year old daughter said, all sweet and adorably, “Oh! Mommy, you are so beautiful! You look like Miss Piggy!!!” I have never curled my hair or worn makeup since…. And that portrait has stayed in the closet….
@kohakuaiko3 жыл бұрын
That's high praise from a 5 year old.

I'm sure your child thought it was a compliment. With no other reference for what curled and makeup are supposed to look like they thought it was great.
@annassiter40873 жыл бұрын
@@angelwhispers2060 …. I knew she, was being angelic-ly ,complementary and very truthful…. It wasn’t the first time my resemblance to Miss Piggy was mentioned…. My hair was curled, make up, and frilly dress… It was at Company Christmas party…. And by the owner of the company.. It was all good natured, everyone was used to seeing me, straight long hair, no makeup, glasses, jeans, t-shirt, sitting at my work bench, headphones on, soldering iron in one hand, solder in the other and a prototype controller board in front of me…. My husband was also teased about it.. They called him Kermit, as he was tall and slender and the quiet type… Since, the Glamour Shot…. Miss Piggy can stay in the closet..

I had to stop all my projects when this mini-series came out, because I realized I was about to do something terribly wrong, that would have caused me great aggravation and wasted time and possibly a ruined project. So thank you for making these. I found this really cute green striped silk I want to make a corseted waistcoat with, and I was thinking of doing it with front lacing. And using some cord and eyelet holes to do some open stitching on the center back... I also found some pale blue wool I was going to do a second vest with, without the corset. So lots of fun this winter. I sew for the adventure. And so I will have clothes I won't hate.

I am so blown away by the beauty of your work on Gonzo’s jacket. The tailoring you did is so, so impressive. Years ago I saved up to have a professionally sewn suit coat and was so disappointed with the final garment. Had I had one with the quality of the one you made, I would still be wear I guess it now!,

Yes accents!! I spent a lot of years being the new kid. I was once told by a linguist that I had regional accents on different words which was very unusual. Then add in military slang and a tendency for weird phrasing. Oh and I hung out with my grandparents a lot so dated phrases are mixed in too. I’ve been asked what my first language is. When I say english there’s disbelief. Accents are weird.

This was an interesting video for so many reasons : ) With such a lovely set of fabrics. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the final outfit. You & your friend are certainly not the only ones who ended up with unusual fluctuating accents. My parents are from different UK cities, and I grew up in a West Indian country that has had differing television sources over the years. School focused on British English, there was always local vernacular (not that my folks encouraged it), and then English, American and Canadian tv programs were available...throw in things written from Elizbethan time straight through the 20th century with a voracious reading habit and you get my formerly Transatlantic accent (before I went to college). My sister sounds quite different of course! And the way speech changes as you meet others and pick up new knowledge just makes it more intriguing. But I am often asked where I'm from, with few believing me when I answer "right here." *shrug*

Thanks for the live-even though I’m 10 months late, it’s a treat! I’m a new sewer. And just FYI: While reading chat, saw someone asking to Mod. Please be oh so careful if you do start using Mods, and choose a very trusted person. I just learned hackers can get into the computer/phone through streaming software. Been seeing loads of people shamelessly pleading to Mod around YT lately-I think the hacking is why. It’s such a nice group of subs, imho you don’t need any Mods.

I was born in Norfolk UK. And you know, I never thought about how it was said!!! As a born and bred Norfolker, I've always said it as "Nahr-fuk" and our county town, Norwich, is said as "Naaarridge". People who don't have a Norfolk accent say "Nor-fuk" and "Norridge" or "Norrich".

I empathize with "making a living" aspect, have found it very frustrating. 😒 Any reasonably adequate compensation prices goods so very expensive to severely limit the customer base. Even using best case scenario or optimal efficency which is less obtainable without a wretched level of mass production. I mean I could accomplish a 5th identical full Gonzo outfit more efficiently and quicker than the 2nd. And that 2nd a snap (relatively) with all the research and sourcing required done only on the 1st. And what is the fun in that? 😁 (Just an example - not equating myself capable of or even willing TO copy YOUR Gonzo. 😏)
