I live in the US but I appreciate the immense sacrifice that the women and men that have served our countries! In my humble opinion, we should be thanking them on a daily basis! I love that you spoke not only to the Canadian Veterans but also the Veterans of the United States! I have a Quilt of Valor in the planning stages for my nephew who was injured in Afghanistan and had to be medically discharged because of his injuries. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge these service members and for sharing how you recognize their service!❤🇨🇦🇺🇸

Hi MIchelle! Beautiful quilts; I love all that fabric, the colors are so rich! I'm looking forward to the Mathemagical pattern! I have a kit very similar to your Falling Leaves pattern, but my pattern is called "Autumn in Flight" by Pine Tree Country Quilts which I got from Jordan Fabrics. I can't wait to see yours when it's completed. And above all, since it's Veterans Day here in the US, I remember and honor my Dad, who served in the Pacific Theater in WW2.

With your choking up a little at the end, I'm guessing you had loved ones who were fatally wounded or died immediately in a war for your country of Canada. Or perhaps you're just a very caring person who realizes and appreciates those who fought for honorable causes and that's why you chose to not only make these quilts, but also a video to also remind the rest of us to honor those service people who did. Either way, thank you for these unselfish acts.

Thank you! We have many family members and friends who have been or are part of various armed forces (Canadian, Australian, American etc.). We have also be privileged to attend a number of Remembrance Day events and I am always moved to tears by the various poems and readings that call on us to remember.

I believe it was written by Laurence binyon who was English not American. “ at the going down of the sun…..”
@bitspiecesquiltingАй бұрын
Oh gosh - you are right. I don't know why I thought he was American. They are such powerful words and verses. My apologies for the error.
