Sew cute and tiny. Looks perfect for walking. Phone - Kleenex - and a lipstick. Well maybe a little cash. Nicole I just found this video. So good and encouraging to see you fix anything you know isn’t perfect and move on, satisfied with a job well done. I enjoy watching your bag making videos👍. Keep up great job!

Do you use the 3.5 stitch length on the whole bag or just the top stitching ( because it’s cork)? I have the same Juki 2010 Q 😊

I love this pattern.. thank you!!! As all your videos the instructions are so great. The camera view was perfect. I loved how you shared what interfacing you used with the cotton as being new to the bag making process totally appreciated. And the top stitching I thought was perfect for a domestic machine. Again TY!
@SewGnar4 жыл бұрын
No problem at all! Domestic machines are getting dumped for Juki’s and the like, but there’s nothing wrong with sewing on a domestic!! They do the same stuff, just not as specialized or heavy duty but I love my domestics.

Thanks Nicole, I made one of these in cork also last year I think it was and it came out squint :( I also cut one out of vinyl at the same time and its still waiting to be sewn together, I was so disappointed that the cork one didnt turn out that I gave up on the 2nd one, I need to take the hardware of it and maybe use the cork for something else tabs or something , rather than sitting there going to waste

First time here. Never tried the glue. Doesn't gum the needle?? Great idea. Love the bobbie pins. Could you sew the strap insteadof riveting? Really enjoyed this video. Will go looking for others of yours. Thx
@SewGnar Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t gum up the needle, however this video is really old and now I almost always use double sided tape. You could sew the strap instead of riveting.
@heatherstoll63032 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great video! Is there a reason you only top stitch one half of the zipper sandwich (hopefully that makes sense)?
@SewGnar2 жыл бұрын
Not the lining? I just prefer it that way!

Enough with the bricks already Sharon ;) Anyway! :) Can a welt pocket be added to the back with a zip closer? Can welt pockets be added to cork? :) also, what about a rivet at the ends of the top stitch line to end/anchor the floating in space closing seam?
@SewGnar2 жыл бұрын
Yeah a welt pocket can be done with cork! And you can certainly add rivets!

The new angle is perfect. You make things look so easy 😊😊. I have the Juki 2200-mini, what is the thickest thread you use with your sewing machine.?
@SewGnar4 жыл бұрын
Glad you like the new angle. I haven’t tested many weights with my machine, I love mettler 40 wt and that’s what I have readily available so that’s what I use!
@mommamea434 жыл бұрын
@@SewGnar So, I'm a quilter and use 40 wt poly thread (expensive) is that thread strong enough for bag making, as I thought 70wt was preferred ? I'm soooo confused when it comes to thread use in bag making.
@SewGnar4 жыл бұрын
@@mommamea43 Thread is tricky and I'm just really starting to understand it. I use 40wt in my machine because I've found the thicker threads to jam up. When you have an industrial, you hav larger needles with larger eyes and the throat plate holes are larger, so thicker thread works.

Oops...you didn't catch the fabric in the top finished seam. I had the same problem with this bag as well. I don't think the pattern pieces fit as well as they should. I added an addition stitch line around my bag tag at the top to catch the opening inside. So it looks framed about an inch and a half down. Hope this helps!
