Hi Lara! Even though you are hesitant with the fabric selection, I think it is perfect for fall and winter as the temperatures start to drop. I think it looks amazing!! Styled it very well with your compression shirt and tall boots. Thank you for bringing awareness to the realness of what diabetes affects outside of the blood sugar levels. 💙

Thank you, Evelyn! I'm glad you think the styling was good. Definitely a little outside of my comfort level, but I enjoyed wearing it so much. I felt trendy in my plaid skirt!! :D Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. I hope all is going well for you! Have a great rest of your week.

Hi Lara! Love your flannel skirt - it looks so warm and cozy! I really like the large scale plaid print. The length is perfect and looks great with those boots. Thanks for leaving the train in your reveal because I know you could have edited it out or redone the clip. I feel you left it in just for me 😂

You’re welcome (and right 😉) about the train! I left it for all of us who have come to enjoy the running train interruptions in my videos! I swear, though, I am hearing a train every hour (or more) anymore. It seems like they’re always running! I’m glad you liked the skirt! It was so easy to make, but has a nice silhouette. Styling it without looking like an Edwardian grandma was the challenge for me. 😂 I’m glad I did ok!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you!! You need to make this skirt! You’ll absolutely love it, and for someone of your skill level, you would probably have it done in a couple of hours.👍

Lara, You look like a college age girl in this video! You are definitely aging backwards. I love the skirt. So classic and trendy at the same time. That compression bodysuit on you is the bomb!! You are definitely rocking it! 🔥🔥🔥

I really think the lighting in the gazebo is partially to blame for the youthful appearance, because it's akin to a romantic restaurant glow, but thank you! I really liked this skirt. It has a nice pay-off, but I do want to try it again in a lighter-weight material. I think it would be even better! Thanks for the nice comments, Grace!!💕♥💕

Ever since I watched this video the first time, I kept remembering the pleated skirt I made when I was a teenager, that I absolutely loved. You’ve encouraged me to reprise the look with a flannel piece I made up a couple of years ago into a wrap scarf, but rarely use. Thanks for the inspiration !

Well, now I feel absolutely awesome that I could inspire you! I would love to see it when you've made it up - do you share your makes anywhere? This is such a nice skirt, I'm sure you're going to love it! Thank you so much for your comment. It made my day that much brighter!❤

Love it! Back in the 70’s, a wrap skirt was very popular, and a back wrap at that. The boys used to give us well….trouble when we weren’t looking, I think that’s why the wrap in wrap skirts moved to the front. I was once prediabetic, but have since lost 70 lbs and radically changed my diet. I managed to avoid D2, having the disease rampant in my family meant I knew what was coming up…..blindness, foot issues, kidney problems….long list…two relatives have died from the disease, I thought it worth it to avoid it. Was so happy Martika was able to redirect her health journey. It can be done. Thanks for sharing.

Ah, congratulations on reaping the benefits of positive life choices! It's definitely much easier to prevent health conditions than deal with them in the long term. I find Martika's story pretty amazing, too. She has done a great job. I can't believe it's been four years since she started Sew Blue... Time really does fly! Have a wonderful week and thanks so much for watching my video!! I'm always so happy to see you. :D
