That yellow fabric compliments your face and hair. Love to see what you make with it. It’s so special when you see a fabric that fits your personality and compliments yourself.

I also take inspiration from Boden, both from the adult and children’s catalogue. It’s an awesome feeling to make something that is equally as lovely but a fraction of the cost. Great video x

Hi Rosa, what a lovely haul! I think your vintage floral fabric (yellow tones) would look awesome made up in the first pattern you showed, with the square neckline in a contrast fabric, maybe white to give a real vintage vibe? I love that you collect old patterns. I do too! When doing so, I often lament that with the rise of pdf pattens, there may not be many patterns in charity shops for future generations to cherish and admire. 🤓

the first yellow floral fabric would look amazing as the Francoise dress from Tilly and the buttons! Very groovy

Hi Rosa, my sisters and i had the 2 yellow flower bed spreads and the same one in pink (1970's). I have been lucky enough to inherit boxes of vintage patterns from an Aunt, Like you i have found it so interesting, they date from the 1930's to the 1990's.

Love the new camera set up Rosa! And I can't get over that 70s skirt pattern from your mother's stash! You don't get that sort of design detail from many modern patterns! Thank you for another great video :D

I make clothes out of sheets too. I have this high thread white sheet that is super soft and has this beautiful lace trim on it. I'm going to make a top out of it which I think will be really gorgeous and fun to wear. LOL, your vintage yellow fabric is so 60s (flower child era) and it's SO familiar! I use to have sheets out exactly that print, in fact I may still have that sheet somewhere in my stash. Now that it's back in style I may have to take a look for it. A jacket (of a simple design) would be really cute in it. I find the true vintage patterns run smaller and there is less ease in them. I use to wear a size 12 and now that size is considered a 14. I'm making Simplicity 8090 out of netting to just drape over chamis.

Style patterns were always my favourite in the 70's. I was sad when they stopped printing them. They fitted well. Body shapes of women were smaller, and styles were to show off the waist. I would like to see them come back.

I had a candy striped sheet - inherited from my Nan and I used it as a working muslin for the closet case pyjamas

Hi Rosa, I seem to remember sleeping in a sheet like that when I was little.... must ask my Mum if she still has it😁. You have some lovely vintage fabrics and I particularly like the last floral fabric which had a watercolour painting look to it.... beautiful 💞. Looking forward to seeing your makes video 😊😘

I love all those vintage fabrics and patterns! They're gorgeous. Unfortunately, here in Spain I don't think I can find vintage patterns, I think because of our history in the XXth century. I'm not sure, but I haven't seen any vintage place to get them.

Congratulations on your win Rosa! I have that Toaster Sweater pattern too - that is one of my favourite patterns of all time :) I love your vintage fabrics! They are such a reminder of the '70's - in fact I'm pretty sure I've seen the female singers of Abba wearing ones very similar in their concerts :) Thanks for another lovely video :)

Hi Rosa, my in-laws love in Beccles and have never told me about this vintage fair! I’ll have to have a word! Another place that’s worth dropping in on if you’re in the area is Anne’s crafts in chedgrave between beccles and Norwich. It’s a tiny little shop that’s run by my hubbys grandma. They don’t have a huge selection of fabric but it is super cheap! E.g. 2 and a half mtrs crepe for £2.50! Bargain!

I love the 8512 me and my sister have been eyeing it for ages but we are struggling for money a bit at the moment so we are just saving up for the pattern and then some fabric to make some stuff from it!

I love vintage fabrics too they are so soft and designs are so much more relaxed or cool than modern stuff. Ideas for your early 70s fabric a smock dress for sure. And the 80s floral a pared back sundress like the style pattern u bought

Hi Rosa. I made the culottes last year in a navy viscose to wear on a wedding. The pictures on the patterns are not the best but the pattern itself is lovely 🙂👌😊

I was wondering if you had bought a new camera. The quality & clarity of this video is wonderful! Thank you, Boyfriend. For that fabric from your mum, I'd say a Kew Dress or that New Look jumpsuit that you like so much. What a steal on that bright floral! That would look lovely as Butterick 5748. Love that Sew House 7 licensed their patterns to Simplicity. They just released a dress version of their Burnside Bibs, which is super cool. That culotte pattern also includes a skirt variation.

Thanks for sharing! Yes, the Boden catalog online is available in the US. It's great for inspiration. Your "Style 2204" pattern has one of the models drawn in a print that reminds me of the vintage floral (aqua and yellow) fabric that you have. I love the skirt frill on that model as well. I wish I could find such fab vintage fabrics here in the US!

I feel the very same way about vintage patterns and sewing notions! Vintage machines, too. I think about what might have been sewn on them, and who did the sewing. It's just such an important part of women's history.

Re striped sheet - may I suggest a button in each of the colours? How do you think that would look? The material itself will look similar to the shirt Midge was wearing with pink trousers when she was listening to records on 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel'.

I have tried sewing with sheets and it was a disaster. It is so tightly woven that it makes it very difficult. It will be interesting to see how your vintage sheet work s out.
