A few minutes ago I saw a video from one of the teenagers on the ferry, they were filming themselves while it was sinking. they were laughing about the whole situation and having fun because they didn't think it was a big deal and thought a helicopter would rescue them. One student even said "We will survive so this is bullshit!"..... the helicopter never came, the adult in the first picture was the captain who left all the students to die. they started crying and saying help me realizing no one was coming to save them. many died. Rip all there beautiful souls. thank you for reading, stay safe.

Explanation: This was known as the Sewol Ferry Tradegy. On April 16, 2014, Southwestern coast of South Korea, 476 passengers onboard, about 323 of them being high-school students, were on a ferry to go to Jeju, South Korea, for a field trip and some just to get home. When they were in the water, one of the vehicles from below the ship somehow was detached from the boat, leading it to hit one of the sides of the boat, causing a hole in the boat. When this happened, students and teachers were ordered to go to their rooms and wait. Not knowing what was happening, students were ordered to stay calm. About an hour goes by and there was no sign of help. Students were calling their parents telling them what was going on even though they weren’t completely sure what was going on. Because the parents were told that the students were being saved and that everything was alright, they told them to listen to the teachers and stay calm, later regretting that they ever said that. While this was happening, the crew members were trying to get the Coast Guards to come help them. The Coast Guard kept on declining to send help to them. By now, half of the boat was under water, and kids were in the hallways of the boat, almost being able to stand on the walls because of how much it had capsized. About an hour goes by and the kids were still in the boat. Another 45 minutes went by and everyone was still in the boat. By this time, everyone is getting scared. About 45 minutes before the ship sank, the Coast Guard finally agreed to send help to the children and get them out. The captain and some of the crew evacuated the boat first leaving everyone on it without telling them help was there. They had waited so long, the boat was on its side and was almost impossible to get out of. Kids tried to climb up the walls, but couldn’t and were freaking out. They eventually were able to get a few students out with the help of others. But, tragically, the boat sank, leaving 304 students, teachers, and others in the boat. When it sank, all they could hear were kids screaming for their parents. Only 172 people were rescued from that boat that day, only 75 being students. Later on in the years, scuba divers went down to retrieve the bodies of them 304 that were left under. To this day, there are only 5 missing bodies left, 2 students, 1 teacher, and a father and his toddler. The Captain of the boat was charged with murder, but only sentenced to 35 years of prison. When people found this out, they were furious. The Korean Government tried their best to hide everything that happened that day, so, most of the parents don’t even know what happened to their children which is absolutely heartbreaking. The fact that all of those people could’ve been saved and didn’t is absolutely horrible. There are many interviews that you can find of the people who survived this tragedy and it’s so heartbreaking. This really got to me. I was 14 at the time of the incident, and two months later found myself, along with my classmates, trapped on a very small ferry after a change in the weather and tide prevented docking for hours. I was one of those who joked most about the situation, as in "Oh well, this is it. At least we'll be spared the 3h beach walk tomorrow". We were told to stay seated in the lower deck, but with no mobile network available (that's Germany for you) and our teachers being busy caring for those affected by nausea (or puking themselves), two friends and I sneaked out to the upper deck, which had a sitting area protected from most of the elements, so we sat down and enjoyed the turbulences while watching water crash onto the front of the boat, until our disappearance was noticed and we had to return to the others. It just blows my mind both how no one seemed to remember this incident despite the international attention and proximity in time, and how carelessly we joked around. It's so unsettling to know that at that point in time, most of them were two years my senior and behaved in such a relatable manner. Now I'm a decade older while they were robbed of their future. Their reactions were ones exhibited by so many other people in the history of time, most of whom were right in assuming that death wouldn't strike. It's such an incomprehensible concept anyway, especially for young people.

I felt like being broken here..i remember my aunt crying face that affects her mental health so much bcz she lost her son aka my cousin...She went to depression and tried to kill herself many times..but her younger son and her husband stop her..Now it's 2023..She is doing well..And is out of depression but still missing her son..all our family members were broken apart..My uncle started blaming himself for letting him go..He was just 6 years older than me and was the best cousin.. i hope the captain, his crew, and the news reporters sees videos like these. It's thanks to their negligence and cowardice that these girls and many other young students died. The captain and crew ran away, knowing everyone on that boat was doomed, and left them for dead while telling them to stay put. The kids trusted them, and they stayed where they were, trusting to the point where they were seated in their rooms and having fun and joking around with one another, thinking the captain will save them and everything would go back to normal. The reporters just filmed the boat as it was sinking, not worrying about helping the kids escape, and just focusing on getting footage and views of the incident as it was occurring. It took so long for any official help to be deployed, only local fisherman were trying to actually help despite a lack of equipment.

If you guys don’t know the story back in 2014 I think there was this group of high school from Korea going on a ferry for something and somehow the boat had a mis function and started to slowly move and go on its side, While this happened the captain said no one move, and when he called a rescue team he was the only one to get out first. not true. the students barley knew each other. they didn't even have one single class with each other( information from other students). But when the ship was sinking they found themselves together in a darkroom so they tied their hands together for two reason (we dont know which one) one reason was that the girl had a life jacket but the boy didn't so they tied their hands together in hopes to go to the surface together. The second reason was just to not died alone. the dating information were rumors

Here's a story: 433 students exited to go to jeju Island with a ship but the most tragedy thing happend to South Korea April 2014 8 am the ship started to tilt and slowly sink,most of the students were 16,as it started to tilt the students thought nothing of it but after 20 minutes they knew something was wrong but the captain told then to stay at their current spot and told them if they moved it would have been dangerous more than half the children believed and obeyed him they thought that was weird but in south Korea they had to obey their elders alot so they obeyed the captain little did they know that was the last time they saw daylight over 100 students disobeyed the captain and those students who did disobey the captain survived...... More than 300 kids were killed just for listening but the good thing is there was a kid who called 911 if that kid had never called 911 all of them would've died buy the most thing that hurts me is the captain told them to stay put but the captain himself left the boat infact he was one of the FIRST people to escape BUT he had time to tell them to RUN but that selfish little brat didn't just like captain jack sparrow said "captains if the ship sinks you sink with it" and there was only one person who cared was a woman who saved lots of kids instead of herself and she sadly died because she was searching for anymore kids in that row she was in but before she could exit the ship sank leaving her to be found deceased/dead The captain got sentenced LIFE to prison and there were a couple on that ship and they were found tied to eachother one of the survivers said they did that on purpose to be together forever and the diver who found them killed himself by trauma and if a random diver felt that way guess how the parents felt 300+deceased 100+survived/escaped 5 are missing till this day......

Their such angels. It's really upsetting especially on how much they depended on the authorities/captain. The way they joked, laughed, smiled and tried comforting each other was heartbreaking. I can't bear to sit in a chair with fewer students, crying, Knowing that the classroom will never feel the same.
