Great vlog as always, lovely to see your smiling faces and hear your enthusiasm. Also great message re all the different adjustments and endorsing making a toil, too many people don’t and are then disappointed. I have my pattern and am itching to go Thank you ❤

Thanks ladies, really love these fitting videos coz fitting is the most challenging part for me as a beginner. It's winter here down under so I'm in fact making Estelle knit dress, but you inspire me to make Lea later in the year. Thank you!!

Great video. Especially about fixing the low neck, which I never know how to do.

Such a lovely, funny and most importantly helpful video!! It’s so interesting because I had the very same issue with the fit as Alma, and I fixed it the same way (must have been two or three years ago already). It was quite painful because I had already attached the facing and sleeves and everything but it helped a great deal! I too think it’s partly because of the viscose fabric dropping so much with the weight of the skirt. So using staytape on the neckline is such a good idea! I‘m definitely making another Lea soon as it is one of my favourite SOI patterns 😍😍😍😍

Great video, ladies!!! ❤ I have a Liberty fabric that I wasn't sure how to use and I think I'll do the Lea dress with the collar.

I hate having to make adjustments, because I'm not very good at them yet. Between the 4 of you, you addressed every problem area I usually have. The most helpful bit was seeing the change that was made right on the pattern piece for brining up the neckline. But wouldn't that also bring up the front bodice by the button placket? Also I wasn't clear about how you bring the shoulder seam up without making the arm scythe too small. Any further help would be very appreciate. Fantastic video! Thank you for taking the time to make it.

Hello! Because you're only changing the pattern at the neck and not at the shoulder the armscye doesn't get altered at all. There is no button placket in this pattern, but I should have mentioned I did the same exact alteration on the facing, so that everything matches 😊

Great chat and info thanks ladies. Just FYI Professor pincushion on you tube also has another really quick way to do an FBA which I have found much easier and doesn’t affect the fit in the upper bodice Can’t wait to make this as I’ve had the pattern since it first came out 🥳🥳

Beautiful Lea Dresses 😍

Forgot to add that for your toile if you make the pattern that fits the across front from arm crease to arm crease measurement eg 14” = size 14 you get a better fit on the chest area then make the shoulder seams and side seams 1” wide it’s so so much easier to fit and the FBA adjustment gets that area neater and easier by doing it as in my last comment 😊 hope this makes sense. Love your chats they cheer up the day

I love the Lea dress, I've made two :) (from the previous version without pockets). Is the adjustment made to the yellow dress on the right end called a narrow shoulder adjustment? thanks x
@SewOverIt7 ай бұрын
It's not quite, it's more to do with lifting up the front bodice as it was hanging a little bit too low. We have a Tutorial on Stitch School on how to do a narrow/broad shoulder adjustment if you'd like to have a look: sewoverit.com/products/how-to-do-a-broad-narrow-shoulder-adjustment

The Lea Pattern is lovely just my style but the neckline is way to low for modest little me. So I will have to adjust that on my pattern. thanks for the video

Did taking an inch off front shoulder to take care of neckline depth cause any problem with the sleeve/ arms eye?
@SewOverIt7 ай бұрын
It didn't because the shoulder seam stays exactly the same, it's only the neckline edge that was altered. I did the same adjustment on the facing so they would match, but no alterations needed on the sleeve 😊
