I think your wig turned out adorable. I love vintage glamor, but I also love seeing people getting into regular everyday people vintage. I think you are doing a very good job of looking like a real person from the 50's or 60's.

This looks so great, also an amazing way to avoid having to blend the lace front which for me is so hard, I’m also not a hair style person so super appreciate other vintage folks who are like me!
@SewRena2 жыл бұрын
Yea I hated trying to blend lace too. After my lace wig was worn out I needed another option. Plus that needed the same amount of care as my hair and I don’t have time for that. I’m glad you found this helpful. 💕

Your sponge curlers brought back so many memories. My mom use to put the pink ones in my hair when I was little. I remember she'd get mad if one fell out. I'd love to try wigs, but I know my family would laugh at me, especially my husband. Wig or not, you look gorgeous!

Girl thank you for the step by step! You look so cute, and when you did the make up at the end it was the cherry on the top to the look 🍒 I love that you included photos of regular folks from the time period, that was so helpful for inspiration. P.S. had to add the way you showed how to blend your natural hair by pin curling the front was great.

Steaming the wig to set the curls is Brilliant. Thank you. The archival photos you found are wonderful. Beautiful work, I would have never guessed you were wearing a wig. You look So good in that dress with that hair. You look like you stepped out of a Film Noir. My Mum went through a period in the 70's where she wore wigs. There used to be specially made boxes to hold the head and the wig so you could store without worrying about dust and damage. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

Good Morning. When your Corvair was new, it did NOT have catalytic converters. This allowed zinc to be added to the motor oils. I guess zinc ruins catalytic converters, chemically. Please consider Valvoline Racing Oils or Royal Purple, when changing your corvair's oil. Good investment. Carry on with your inspirational self.

It’s just the most lady-like look ever. 🤎 Of course, your ginormous eyes are the most beautiful “accessory” and your eye makeup makes them riveting. Whenever I see you modeling some fabulous outfit, your face is the thing that gets the best attention. I’m having a blast watching your videos. I’ve done a set on my hair once but with pin curls and it didn’t look “vintage” also a lot of these vintage hair styles require certain hair cuts as a foundation for the style and my hair was pretty much too long and one length. @emi’s vintage kzbin.info/door/Q2ki7CyhcbL1U8j0P7Em5Q does vintage hair and she talks about her hair cut.

Since you are African American women doing a 1950’s hairstyle in a Afro would fit you better.All of those are Caucasian women in the photos.
@damita4336 Жыл бұрын
You've got to be younger than 50. This young lady could not be more authentic. Think Ebony and Jet and beauty shop calendars. Back then we weren't called African American women. We were called Negroes and we didn't start wearing afros until LATE sixties. Think about it.. We weren't even considered whole citizens before 1964.... Think Civil Rights act. You may be too young to remember those who paved and prayed the way and how we HAD to wear our hair...to be a credit to our race.. for the privileges you now enjoy and readily advise others to partake of. To each his own. Many of our ancestors had to wear their hair in this time period in caucasian styles. Don't even let me get into the cosmetics and the lips and hips... It's nice to have options. This young lady is doing a wonderful job exercising hers.
