Laura, if you made one of those with mesh then you could put onions and potatoes in them. Another great use would be to use dog fabric and make one to store the dog toys and leash could just clip right onto the hanger with the rest of the leash inside. Lastly, use a kid friendly fabric and have a "hanging toy box on the closet door in a kids room.

I have the same bag but much longer on the back of each bathroom; it's a lau dry bag and at the bottom it has a zipper to remove the laundry. The first one I had was made of cheap plastic which gave me the idea and the template for many other bags made of cloth that I made in the future. By the way, the opening can be a semi-circle on the side.

Oh Laura, you just made my day. I've searched endlessly on how to sew a clothespin bag and here you are making it easy for us watching. Thank you so much for your tutorial. Can't wait to sew mine. But I'll be using a wired hanger because I live on a tropical island and a plastic hanger won't stand a chance with all the sun here.

If you are going to use it as a clothes pin bag and you live in an area that is windy, you may want to put TWO hangers in that have the hooks facing each other to create a closed loop so the bag doesn't fall off the clothes line. Virginia Clearbrook MN

I have made clothespin bags several times, reusing the current bag as a pattern (which uses bias tape) I'm really bad (as my mothers reminds me) on leaving my clothespin bag on the line and it fades. I had planned on making a bag soon and after watching your tute I'm going to try the fat quarter way. I'm also going to use some fusible fleece. :) Your way is less waste of fabric and we always have some ugly fabric to use for this purpose (haha) In addition, i will make a matching grocery store bag holder to match since it can be done with a fat quarter. Thanks for the idea.

Thanx. I've been wanting to make some for gifts. If you use it as a regular hanger, you have hidden storage in your closet. I can't imaging thieves looking through every garment looking for that hidden stash of money or jewelry.

I'm thinking with a few modifications, I could make a simple reversible garment bag using some of the same techniques you have used here. I'm going to need such a bag to hold my deacon robes to keep them clean and for easy transport. A garment bag that I can personalize and make reversible would be lovely, I think.
