Ughhh. SJP just bugs me. I can’t help it. She interrupts, she pulls focus, and she mugs for the camera. Sitting there biting her lip in an interview is not far away from the multitude of inane close-ups of Carrie licking her lips in pensive thought or freeze framing mundane actions like opening a refrigerator just to create the illusion that she is some sultry beauty. The show without Samantha/Kim Cattrall is so forced and they assassinated the Samantha character in order to appease SJP’s retaliatory ego. I stopped watching after the first episode when Carrie said, “I thought I was more to her than an ATM…” and they tried to rewrite the history of the show. That had SJP’s grimy exec producer fingerprints all over it. For the record, if any of the characters was craven and a financial parasite it was Carrie. Remind me, who was it that offered to loan money to Carrie so she could buy her apartment after decadently wasting all her money on shoes? Who was it who worked for free peddling Carrie’s first book, using her expertise and contacts only to be judged and insulted? Who was it who put her life on hold and went to great expense to nurse Carrie back to emotional health after insisting on an over-indulgent wedding that scared off the groom who said he was uncomfortable with a big wedding to begin with, but was ignored so Carrie could parade around in a series of ridiculous outfits for a magazine? Samantha was a true friend. Carrie was/is fair weather. Carrie is also a user and is a horrible friend to all those women. I have a feeling what is at the center of the hostility between the actresses is plain, old fashioned jealousy. Samantha was the breakout character and became the most beloved. She was the heart of the show and despite being mercilessly judged and ridiculed by all the others, she was the most devoted and loyal. Kim Cattrall was marginalized in terms of pay and storylines and fought for her worth. SJP set out to destroy her reputation in real life and in fiction. Carrie/SJP cannot tolerate not being the center of attention whether its in a six minute interview or a 25 year franchise.

The lady who conducted the interview, that turquoise/pink dress is fabulous! I watched the first two episodes for Season 2 and really liked it. I won't give away spoilers, but let's just say the sex and fashion are back, which is great. Yes, they are now mature, but they are not ancient. It's fun again and I laughed out loud a few times. Big improvement from Season 1.

I think Kim was being unreasonable with the SJP thing. I believe her and the others when they say they were completely blindsided by Kim’s comments and behaviour.

As they’re soaking up the compliments, it’s all the sadder that the series they’re pushing is complete dreck There is no comparison, the scripts are so poor, the plots are meandering, the fashion is an insult, and there’s zero chemistry between the characters It’s failing and it’s failing hard

I’m sorry I have a hard time with statements “it was very white”… there are shows like “girlfriends “ etc and no one complained that it was very Black. I’m just tired of folks feeling like they have to apologize. It was just a show. When did it become about census collection and not about actual storylines? I like both shows.. SATC and Girlfriends, but I can’t imagine the latter saying they realized they were “too Black”. It happens, not all girlfriends groups have the most diverse group but it’s about friendship, stories, and not everything has to be so complicated .

And Kristin Davis is ABSOLUTELY right when she speaks on AGEISM and how some IDIOTIC fans were HATING on her about her looks as she's aged and have grown older, which is a NATURAL PROGRESSION IN LIFE AND IF GOD IS WILLING, we all go through this AMAZING JOURNEY through life!! There's NOTHING wrong with aging!! It's ALL APART OF LIFE'S JOURNEY!! We MUST EMBRACE the journey!! Trying to CONTROL AGING IS FUTILE AND RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Gemmarose9012

No one was commenting about her aging. They were commenting because she ruined her looks by getting fillers to try to look younger. I agree there isn’t anything wrong with aging and if Kristin Davis agrees she should have let herself age naturally instead of doing what she’s done. She can barely move her face and she slurs her words due to the work she had done. Total hypocrisy!

I know people have tossed this around jokingly/to poke fun, but AJLT really is the new Golden Girls of this generation. The woman going through life together, experiencing new challenges that only come after your 30s and 40s, tackling sex and body positivity at a certain age. It shows woman that age that life hasn’t stopped and that you can still be fun and fabulous w/ you best girlfriends in your 50s. Season 1 was a little rocky (adapting an unissued script to fit the time period the show was airing in) but towards then it seemed to fit its footing. Season 2 definitely brings the flare we missed from the OG series, but in a fresh way. Excited for the rest 🤍

Really looking forward to this season. I'm going through the original show again and loving it. As a 55-year-old, I know what they're talking about when they say middle-aged women's stories need to be told on television and in film. We're just as interesting if not more so than our younger selves.

The problem for AJLT is that some of its more recent audience have come straight from SATC. They haven’t yet reached the ages of the ladies today, so it doesn’t have the same appeal. However it would seem the original fans appreciate them for who they are today and the show as it is.

This! I started watching the original show as a 20 year old. I loved the fashion and fun. It wasn’t until I rewatched in my 30s that I actually discovered how relatable their experiences were. Now I’m in my mid 40s and I imagine they are giving insight into how it feels to grow into late middle age and the topics will become more relatable as I get older.

It is only now that everything’s about race,etc is seen with such scrutiny, unnecessary… I don’t chose my group of friends, especially not based on the color of their skin… They just come…and if they’re all the same race…there’s nothing wrong with that… Sorry I think you’ve gotten lost in: “And Just Like That” from the original essence of the series, worried to please every type of human being existing…
