This has different meaning now that Rod has taken advantage and had a relationship with one of his students. And, to recognize that no matter how “spiritual” we are, we are also human and to acknowledge we are aren’t above human-ness.

Is there a talk or an article that says this? I am looking and can’t find anything. His first wife was a student in the 90’s. So it isn’t new info or anything.

I would think a guru isn't someone who is perfect and puritanical, it is one who fully embraces who they are, warts and all. Someone who has an understanding of contrast, that sometimes we move toward lightness and sometimes away...I think his version of an enlightened teacher is actually what sets people up for trouble, we fail to see the humanness in everyone, including gurus and thus we put our faith in what is outside us, instead of what is within.

Let us know in the comments below: I often remember George Harrison singing "beware of swingers dropping all around you." It's best if guru and student can see the divinity within each other, sparking something much greater than any short-term satisfaction. This was such a great talk!
