That’s why the people and world is that way it is. What suppose to be beautiful, healthy, and bring joy to people has been so distorted that became a disease, dirty, perverted!!! Why does scripture help? Is it specifically the bible, or any reading at all? Just wondering....

PS. While Dr. Nedley's suggestions for a "sex fast/reboot" sounds reasonable for "sex addicted" individuals, but he does not clearly demonstrate empirical basis of this treatment and randomized controlled trials regarding its effectiveness. Further, some his generalizations -- that periodic masturbation is unhealthy -- appears largely driven by morality. If this MD is to be believed he needs to maintain credibility. When he initially states that the Weimar Institute treats various mental disorders that "will be completely eradicated in the vast majority of cases", there is no empirical basis for this. (Superior to top Mental Health treatment centers in North American? (e.g., Harvard Health, Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto).) If Dr. Nedley has empirical support for his claims he should publish these findings in a peer reviewed journal to share "the secret" of your treatment success; supposedly vastly superior to Harvard Medical School, John Hopkins, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto), etc. Credibility is earned, and MD Nedley loses his by these kinds of claims.

I think the point is Brian that he is NOT making these claims in a peer-reviewed publication, and we are free to test his recommendations for ourselves. My own experience is that Dr Nedley can be relied on to speak from wisdom and I am happy to test his brain reboot program for myself. I'll come back in 90 days and report on my findings. Something else I might say is that mantras containing words like "empirical basis" and "double blind" and "randomized controlled trials" are something I'm used to hearing from people who want to appear to be making an authoritative case when it turns out they are merely pushing a barrow that suits their own lifestyle choices. I'm not saying that's you Brian, but the fact is that reliable empirical testing costs millions of dollars and can take many years and if that is the only basis on which someone will choose to act they will only ever behave in a way that suits the purposes of the wealthy industry groups who can afford to fund such research. There's nothing wrong with the old suck-it-and-see method, especially if you're a health practitioner with access to a lot of guinea pigs :)

Thanks for demonstrating that you have "no life", other than as an Internet troll. Critiquing that health practitioners strive to adhere to evidence-based practice shows your true colours. There will always be those who sell unverified approaches to vulnerable people, ranging from what appears to be reasonable common sense to get rich schemes like "snake oil" or "holly water". Your membership in the "Flat Earth Society" is about to expire, man-child.

I agree with what you wrote. Especialy when he talkes about masterbation. I can clearly see his point,.... if over use of masterbation... but not all masterbation. It does seem more moral, than factual empirical data.

Sex is a "provocative" topic? What year are we in?? (Grow up!)

What is your issue with identifying sex as a Provocative subject
@hebronwatson95325 жыл бұрын
Sex is an important part of life in which God wants to see His image clearly portrayed through Christ-like love, wisdom, and temperance. On the other hand, many are led to behave in an intemperate, ungodly, and un-wise way, and they feel strongly that it is their right to do so, hence, when the message is given, that God's plan is completely counter to their life-style, it can PROVOKE some feelings rebellion, anger, and hostility, especially because sex is (quite justifiably) a very private matter. I think it is accurate and correct to say that sex is a provocative issue, today more than ever.

It sure is. Especially the year we are living in. It's our fault for twisting it and now its provocative.
