As someone who works in a prison and is surrounded by child molesters daily. I can tell you not all sex offenders are the same. In my opinion I can categorize sex offenders into 3 groups. 1) 18 year old who has sex with his 16 year old girlfriend/boyfriend type sex offender. I don't think this guy/girl is really dangerous and shouldn't have to register for the rest of his/her life. I'm fine with punishing them but not destroying their life because when someone has to register it all but destroys their life. 2) The most common is the relative who molests a family member. Parent-Child, Grandparent-Grand Child etc etc. They are dangerous to family but they are unlikely to molest a stranger. Even so they need to be registered sex offenders. 3) The most rare is the sex offender who hunts out kids. The ones who hang out at parks and things like this. These should never be let out of prison and if they are let out they need to wear ankle bracelets and MUST be traced at all times. This is my opinion, thanks for reading.

LibertarianUSA1982 Well say there are high school students and they're only a few months apart and one of them turns 18 and the other is 17 and they have sex. I don't think those people are sex offenders if they're only a few months apart.

Elysse Wood According to some states the 18 year old is.
@TheFlanker35
@TheFlanker35 9 жыл бұрын
Elysse Wood It is in a lot of states. Additionally, TONS of offenders are strict liability offenders where they sincerely believed their victim was over the age of consent due to fake ID, plastic surgery, and just extreme immaturity on their part. In medical school, I worked in the Psych Ward of the prison hospital where a lot of research is undertaken and I would say this is the most disturbing case.
@TheFlanker35

AlchemistNZ Soapmaker When judging the offender, it should be really important to note whether or not the victim was/appeared pre-pubescent or post-pubescent. Additionally, it is important to distinguish between mens rea offenders and strict liability offenders. Finally, it is important to investigate the individual's receptiveness to treatment.

The inmates are the biggest hypocrites of them all. If you ever watch that show BEYOND SCARED STRAIGHT the inmates lust after the 13 and 14 year old boys saying "COME HERE I'LL MAKE YOU MY BITCH and sometimes making facial kissing gestures with their lips. You know what that means because they are fresh fish in jail but then they CONTRADICT THEMSELVES by saying that they will smash a chomos face in. W.T.F is that all about?

@@lilamontoya5609 I'm just saying, for me my impulse may be eat a donut or not when I'm stressed out, for people like this it's something crazy like what he did, he knew it's wrong but he did it, that's what temptation is, it's knowing it's wrong but still doing it, just for this guy it's like something really fked up and that's why he's where he is he made the wrong decision but I think he's just more screwed in the head, his desire are more messed up then a regular person, so the result of him giving in is 100x worse, anyway all I'm saying is one part of his inner dialogue said this is wrong and the other said it's okay, and he chose the wrong side so he deserves going to jail, but to say he woke up in the morning and said I want to give into my impulses isn't correct, it was already building inside of him and he just let go. and yes he deserves 100% everything coming to him for that decision.

My mom tries to eat really healthy and she never eats junk food when other peoooe are around but sometimes in private if no one is around she’ll cave and go to the drive through in McDonalds. I’m sure like 95% of people can think of impulsive behavior they know is wrong but that they do anyways that they’re more likely to do when no one is around. Society must be protected, and there must be a strong penalty attached to acts such as this. That's more important than being friendly to imperfections as strong as this. Even drug crimes hurt people, I lost a family member due to drug addiction, and I think he deserves justice for the fact that these bad things were made available to him like it was nothing wrong, drug dealers know that it hurts people, lots of people die from overdoses or their lives are shattered and their families suffer too. Sexual abuse is far more prevelant then people realize or than is reported. The only protection for these kids is parents who are vigilant & who educate them on the dangers & what to do. Those who commit these acts are messed in the head and definately need prison time but need therapy as well. As for the prisons, I went to visit my abuser in prison and if it weren't for the fences and locked cells it would have looked more like a resort. I was amazed at the amenities and privileges they had.

I have a friend who was locked up at the age of 22 for a sex crime he committed at the age of 13. He's looked at as a child molester, but he was only a kid himself at the time. He was only locked up because he confided in someone and that person ratted him out. His victim forgave him long ago. It was only one victim, but now it's assumed that he's a danger to society when he shows no sign of such. Most times, these people have poor self-image and are lonely, so they're sexually weak.

People can and do make mistakes. However, there are some mistakes that society says are intolerable and sex offenses on children are among them. The fact that those who victimize children are at the bottom of that list, makes a powerful statement.

When I read these comments, they upset me. On the internet, people show their true colors. And apparently, these people reveal that they desire someone to suffer, and to openly say it. I hate that. That's why I usually don't comment on these types of video, because my true colors don't resolve around complete hatred. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of hate to give, as well as anger and frustration, but most of the time, they're all silent. I don't reveal them openly because I only feel them in my head, not in my heart. I don't admit my hatred unless it's a weight on my heart that I have to lift. When I see these videos, I feel nothing, I am numb, and that it good. I don't have to give out any anger, hate, and desire for suffering. Maybe he does deserve punishment. But when it comes down to revealing how you feel about these people. For me. It's just not the same as you.
