It's wonderful how you've been shining a spotlight on punk and post-punk tunes. The tutorials are so clear and well-paced. Hope to see Adam & The Ants and Devo in the future. Matthew Ashman and Marco Pirroni, like so many of the guitarists you feature, are sadly underrated.

The stuff Steve Jones did as an 18 year old is still being analysed 40+ years later. Unbelievable. He was never a showy lead guitarist but an incredibly tight rhythm player with tasty lead fills here and there. And of course his guitar defined the sound of UK punk. I'm not sure about the rest of his catalogue but everything up to and including Never Mind the Bollocks is/was iconic. Hell of a thing for a 'lonely boy'.

Great post Adrian, I have been playing this since 1982 and have always played the "C" on the 8th fret and probably, as a consequence never picked up on the passing drops to the "A".These little nuances are part of the reason I like you so much, also you really cleared up my confusion on the 12th fret double stops which I had always fudged my way through. Many thanks:)

Excellent lesson but sounds are not quite there. He used a Custom of course - maybe the board makes a difference? But really it's the Fender twin cranked up that gives the classic whine. No distortion. Touch of phase mxr 90 on this - only time he used it. Think solo's might have involved a flying eve. Chris Spedding was nowhere near this. He did demo's very early on. Did not play on them.
