Sex-Positive vs. Sex-Favourable

Thanks for this vid, it always annoys the heck out of me when people mix the two up, because it's very much possible to be repulsed and still positive (like me). One little thing though, I think there's nothing wrong with allowing people outside of the ace community to use repulsed/indifferent/favorable terminology for themselves, and I think that can actually be quite helpful. These terms originated within ace spaces, but they don't have to be ace-specific. It's rare, but repulsed allo's exist. The people I've talked to who fall into that category tended to be quite confused as to where they fit, and they found repulsed/indifferent/favorable terminology helpful in figuring themselves out.

I agree, so I think a better way to express myself in this video would have been to say that sex-favourable is a term originating from asexual spaces (as opposed to an "asexual-specific term"). I've pinned your comment, so hopefully people will see both your acknowledgment of sex-repulsed aces and the use of such vocabulary outside of ace spaces, and that you yourself are an example of someone who is repulsed and still sex-positive.

Loved the video. I've been stuck and have dealt with the stereotypes and misconceptions about asexuality including people assuming I'm a prude who hates sex-positivity. I think it is also important that these terms become more apparent elsewhere as I know so many who assume that sex-aversion is a synonym for Asexuality, when in reality you can be allosexual but sex-averse because you don't like the feeling, you've been through something hurtful, etc. Because of that misconception, I've had allos who used that misconception to say that 'Everyone experiences attraction', 'Asexuality is caused by trauma', and 'Asexuality is just prudes and celibates trying to act special'.

thank you for this video! i've been trying to figure out this whole "when i have sex, it is generally an enjoyable thing, but i'm just not very interested" thing. sex-favourable ace seems like a good descriptor ^^

For short: People can be sex positive, sex neutral, sex negative, or even anti-sex. What also differs from people also being able to be sex favorable, sex indifferent or apathetic, sex repulsed or averse, or even touch averse. All of those things have specific identity label terms that I cannot remember from the top of my head, but I would appreciate if somebody commented.

I think im probably a sex-favourable asexual. not truly sexually attracted to anything at all real,fictional 2d whatever but sex has always and will always look intriguing and pleasant to me as a pleasurable intimate activity. appreciate genitals for keeping our species going and giving pleasure, other than that I don't really care.
