Is promiscuity for men built in and inevitable? Are men better at separating love and sex and therefore less likely to regret one night stands?

i found this discussion very shallow and disappointing. apart from a few results from a questionnaire on sexual attitudes and lifestyles, no one on this panel backed-up their ideas with any kind of rigorous evidence, which i guess isn't surprising given we have an artist, an entertainer and a former editor... the festival has organised a talk about sexual behaviour, so where are the psychologists, biologists and sexologists?

Externalizing the problem really just avoids the problem. Thinking that it's a fault of something external, something that people have no control over is the belief that gets pushed on people to let them be controlled. On top of that, the psychology of being an intellectual means to be something that others are not, a deeper selfish self identity of the intellectual label which eerily give rise to the need to have control. Why? Because that's what the label kinda means, someone else is the expert they know better. So barking up the wrong tree is easy when it sounds intelligent, sounds meaning linear rationalizations vs big picture spacial understanding. Of course I"m not saying addictions are good, people should be happy of course. I'm mostly just poking at intellectuals cuz they are so funny some times, no really they love to talk, I'm jealous of the auditory intelligence (and yes I know I'm sounding like a jerk atm, but the concept of intellectuals it's part of my point). I'm saying the problem isn't external, but then I would say that for a lot of stuff. To get more to my point this shouldn't be about "re-influencing" young men's programming. Intellectuals will want to sensor, shame, or hide knowledge in the hope that the overall improvement is worth the other problems it will cause. ie people not depending on learning how to deal with their feeling themselves vs relying on someone else to solve their problems for them. People want to have life experiences, this might be more about allowing. Allowing people to have what they are dreaming about to happen to get to a place that helps people see for themselves what they are really doing or have done. Go inside, internalize the feelings and experiences, talk about why you want anal sex intellectually, why you masturbate etc, be vulnerable, allow that to happen with the world around you. Yeah I know it sounds crazy but how else do people grow. Sorry to put down intellectuals, nothing wrong with knowing stuff, it's the point of the video really, but no matter the intellect we all have to live and experience life to know what it means to be happy giving up control and learning from it I think will do more good than harm on this topic.
