What? Its a diaphragm that got got stuck. A now, very old school, not often used form of birth control that you put in before sex and take out after. Often also used with spermicide. An IUD is a form of birth control that is placed in the uterus by a doctor and used long term. If you want it removed, you have to go back to a doctor to get it removed. Otherwise it stays there for like 5 (or longer?) Years.a diaphragm works by blocking the cervix so sperm cant get in the uterus and up the fallopian tubes to fertilize an egg. An IUD, a doctor opens up your cervix and places either à plastic or copper IUD in the uterus, and the IUD tricks the body into thinking its pregnant, which makes it impossible to get pregnant because the female body doesnt allow another fertilization if it thinks a fertilized egg is already in the uterus. Thats basically how it works. The old fashioned diaphragm is similar to how a menstrual disc is inserted into the vagina, and rests just under the cervix. Though i a diaphragm intentionally blocks sperm (along with spermicide foam) and a menstrual disc catches menstrual blood (unlike the menstrual cup, which must be removed prior to intercourse. Menstrual discs do not have to be removed and females can have sexual intercourse with the menstrual disc unside them. There are many benefits to using menstrual cups and discs. And diaphragms are not really used anymore. Oh, IUD's are like 99% effective. Diaphragm 's are about 88% effective if used properly and with spermicide. Without spermicide, it is 80% effective at preventing pregnancy.
