I like how you are direct and telling the truth about the behind the scenes of a models life. As a designer I respect my models and make sure the photographers I work with has that same respect to the people we shoot in my designs. When you offer quality you should demand it back also. Never think that you're easily replaceable and always remember that you're getting paid with the money you earned for them. So, they need you as much as you need them.

I’m so sorry and sad to hear about your harassment and the emotional abuse that these guys of power inflict on young men that are at a point in their life that they are still figuring out their own values and self worth. I’m glad you’re strong enough to stand up for yourself and your career was not ruined each time you were harassed. Your friend Travis also told similar stories, and the loss of money that’s also inflicted on you guys, even by your own agents. Your story, if only one male model hears it, is invaluable. Good luck in all your future endeavors.

How come this things still in the industry? As a lot of people experiencing this kind of harassment maybe it's time to stand for them rights, it's 2017 and alot of people could understand more about this matter and go against this sexual predators
@marioadrion7 жыл бұрын
Not every photographer or Designer does it- it is still only a small percentage but they usually get away with it thats why I want to talk about it. :-) thanks for ur comment

Mario Adrion well yeah applaud you for telling the truth 🙂👍🏼 maybe at least they will somehow watch this type of vlogs and be slapped in the face and wake up that this is not and shouldn't be a norm 💩💩
@jackfntwist7 жыл бұрын
It's a very small percentage. And unfortunately it tends to be a couple of the most influential. And thank you for differentiating that it's "the way" they do it and "the intent" is for their own arousal. I'm a photographer (not hugely influential), and I love to shoot body, and implied nudes, rarely artistic nudes with models who are comfortable (I never push). I would never publish artistic nudes without specific consent (ever). I also ask them to put lotion on, and sometimes help, but only like save areas. lol. For me it's purely for everything to fit a creative vision. Even if the vision is very sexy, the shoot itself is not sexual. Usually sweating and carrying heavy equipment all day. Hard work. But it pays off with models who are easy going (most) make it easier, and we get great shots / publicity. For me it has rarely been awkward - maybe once or twice, with beginners who don't understand the purpose, and got really freaked out. I don't know. What do you think about a photographer's perspective? Good topic for 2017.

I worked in Los Angeles as a makeup artist for about 8 years and have witnessed things like this first hand to models from some pretty big photographers. It’s even happened to ME as a makeup artist from photographers and other more established artists that have power and influence. ANYONE in that industry that has power and influence, wether they are a photographer, makeup artist, hairstylist, wardrobe stylist, an agent can use that, and a lot of them do, to get people to sleep with them. So it happens to models who work in front of the camera. But it can also happen to anyone who works behind the scenes. The weird thing is most just accept that as part of the industry like it’s no big deal.

Yes. A very sincere truth about modelling. He didn’t say something more - once the pictures are taken they are presented to “rich” people who order selected models for sex and pay a lot to the agency which shares with the models. The biggest money the model gets come from having sex with rich people via a modelling agency.

Part of being a great photographer (or any artist) is being able to have a creative vision, but also have a good relationship and communication with your model, so that there is good energy only, and everyone is comfortable, and happy. You have to also know if the chemistry is just not right, either one can walk away. If it's right, you can help each other's careers, hopefully.

Another excellent video. So many naive young models/actors/musicians get caught up in the seedy underbelly of the industry- sex and drugs- "I'm gonna make you a star kid if you let me.... (fill in the blank). Unfortunately it would appear that this kind of predatory behaviour is the norm rather than the exception. It is a real abuse of trust and power. You present yourself as an intelligent liberal minded mature grounded young guy with a good set of morals who could charm the birds off the trees and therefore be able to handle most awkward situations. Its also probably safe to say that you are very aware of your own professional persona which you use to your advantage- the "is he isn't he" homo erotic/straight "no labels" persona.All part of your charm!
