This is typical nonsense, once you start holding someone hands constantly…..then eventually they’ll crave for more or deeper affection. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, the need for sex is on the same plane as the need for food, water,sleep, and breathing. These professionals live in dreamland just to think that just holding hands will be just sufficient (maybe for one or two patients) but not for the rest (my thoughts as a non-professional).

Thank you for WASTING 25 minutes of my time. I was hoping as a caregiver working in an assisted living facility, with dementia patients, this video would provide some solutions to deal with inappropriate sexual behaviors, it didn't. I think some of you so called "specialists" should come down off your pipe dream of finding someone to hold hands with or brush their hair is going to make a difference! You tell us they can't control/change/understand their actions, it's impulse, don't shame them. Really?? What should we tell the family of the resident he assaults? What if the resident is attacked for their inappropriate behaviors? Plus, this to be done by staff that is improperly trained and outnumbered. We are lucky to feed, bathe, medicate and toilet. DO BETTER, please!
