Very sad to see that all the people here including rahul bose, chunky and host herself are giving their opinions about something that they havent even read and about the man they know nothing about ! And they dont even have the humility to respect such a great man in front of them. Stupid questions asked by host, cutting off greg inbetween time and again. Rahul bose babbling some wisdom which he himself dosent understand. and unfortunate showing off by chunky. Disappointed. But hats off to greg for taking it so easy.

Couldn't agree more. Everything Pooja spoke I wished her silence. They didn't let Gregory speak enough, and a man such as he should be given time to express anything he feels like sharing. I cringed at this Poojas mindless handling of the whole interview but when she revealed she didn't read the book. . Bruhhh. Literally can't right now.

I am touched .. Gregory''s life was a turn around and Mumbai played its part. I was hooked to this , mind it, it 1.45 am in Bangalore and could not resist watching all 5 clips of his interview. Well, time and people can change a personality.. this is a live example.. My next book on TO READ list : ofcourse guys, its SHANTARAM... and majha naav Shivraj aahe !!! ;)

how can anyone invite someone as intellectual and experienced in life as Greg and then actually insult him like this?? esp the guy calling his book self indulgent??? and people actually judged the book without reading it? I cringe at the way she interviewed him!

thats was i said on the last video. he's totally on the wrong show. i'm pretty sure that he realized that too in the first 2 min of the show. He gave a good interview though. I;m really happy that i got to see this.

I got shocked that the talk show host had not read the book before the interview, let alone picked it up yet.
@devanshkamdar82446 жыл бұрын
Her hands are way too thin to pick it up even once. I've read Shantaram 2 times, and I always think about it on long trips and basically whenever I don't have anything else to ponder on. It's an amazing book, and a very underrated piece of literature. I've even been to Mumbai once after I read it, and if you like the book, you have to go that city to feel it truly.

all u ppl lamenting abt chunkey pandey, pls give him a break. the most fame he has gotten in a while is the mention of his name in this book. a guy who is down and not popular currently has to act like a smart-ass to gain some attention. compare the same with Rahul Bose. he is the epitome of cool cos he doesnt care if he is in the limelight or not. he is confident of himself.

The two Indian hosts are clueless. So lacking compassion. Shantaram is such an amazing human being, both in the book and in real life even better human being, so humble, so kind, so wise, so compassionate. The Indian hosts are clueless and do not deserve to interview Shantaram, without even reading the book.

Thats the gist of journalism in India. Interview a writer without reading his book!

I don't think Pooja is wrong in asking such questions about paying dues, enough punishment and such . It IS her job to do so as an interviewer and she did a good job of it. In fact, had she not asked the questions, we would have never known what Gregory Roberts feels about it and wouldn't have appreciated his book and his life like we do now having known the answer. and hence I think a few of you guys need to stop ganging up on Pooja. :)

Rahul Bose is a very good actor, very sencere and real. But why do they never talk about karla?
@bhoomm14 жыл бұрын
a very immature comment/question by Pooja, whereby she subscribes to society's black and white classification of criminal and non-criminal...had she read the book she'd have known that heists with a toy gun and selling dope (illegal status of pot itself a social construct) are not the same as murder...
@karinja10013 жыл бұрын
@EVILAKUMA yes he is a very good actor too why nobody talks about Karla?

What???? Not yet read the book? My word! How rude is this woman? Cringe worthy interview on her part. Gregory, ever the gentleman. I think he is awesome and his writing a true gift.

I like how he doesn't pretend to be modest ( you have to have 'talent' to write) and the Indian people not being intimidated by him.

How insensitive of Pooja to ask such questions. Poor Greg.
@Georginaesco14 жыл бұрын
I find this presenter so unsensitive and immature! she asks once 'if he has payed for all the bad he's done' and he replied, yet she asks again! I doubt she has read the book because in that case she would understand the complexity of what is 'good' and what is 'bad' and not just put her finger in his wounds like that...

did he really ask her to marry him during the break cuz thats what she said in hindi at 2:11. he was probably kidding. may be he thought once he marries her, he can get her to read the book.

I can't believe she did this interview without reading the book (or atleast a part of it. Maybe that's why she seemed so callous in her line of questioning. I think she is clueless. Gregory shouldn't have been subjected to that idiot chunkey Pandey. I bet he regrets putting his (Pandey's) name in the book.
@MikeSlominski6 жыл бұрын
The dichotomy of Gregory, who is nothing but genuine, and the pretentious vacuous image obsessed media posers here is breathtaking. I think there may be no better example of the cartoonish quality of modern television nonfiction than these interview segments.
