I'm pretty much the same age as these dudes, and grew up on the East Side of Metro Detroit (East Detroit, Roseville, Harper Woods) Here are just a few of the commercials that I think of: D.O.C. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGW2YZh9r9OUgpI (Parodied directly on the show) Mel Farr Superstar - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5_IpImnpLSDraM (Such a weird idea to sell cars; Mel Farr stuck with the suit and the cape for years and years after that commercial) Alan Ford/ Ray Whitfield Ford - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGW2YZh9r9OUgpI (The song doesn't rhyme at all, but I still remember the words perfectly after 25 years)

Sometimes improv is a turn-off when you can see the gears grinding in the performer's mind. Somehow, Sam and Tim make the gear grinding as funny as the improv it results in. There have only been a few episodes of Detrioters [and this great interview] and many times I'm chuckling at them starting their bit as much as I usually chuckle at the bit itself. The subtle shifts and changes in expression and the mime-ing they initiate.

Tim is the man, I love him to death & Seth seems cool too. I have not watched Detroiters, just ITYSLN.That said, this interview was strange. Sam bragging about his father calling the police on people complaining about their food is a weird flex. You need 1.6 million with start up costs up to $500,000 to open an Outback steakhouse, being a trust fund kid is a good reason to be that delusional. I am definitely going to check out the show though, Tim is hysterical.
