Interesting. According to the published tone charts the A and O should be a lot brighter than the Titan, but it doesn't come off that way at all. I like them both, really.

Both pickups sound AMAZING. I think I prefer the Titan, though. It has so much more clarity.

Titan seems to have lower mid growl and omegas seem to have High mid/treble growl.

Not many people know that these both are periphery’s signature sets .. they sound similar for that reason , they just have different characters because of Jake Bowen and mark Holcomb lol

I adore my DiMarzio Titans in my 7 string, don't get me wrong, but the Alpha/Omega win, hands down.

Thanks for Comparisation , it would be interesting to compare hi-cost Alpha & Omega with low-cost Entwistle Dark Star and know exactly how much we get for our money. Best Regards

The titan cleans almost sounded like a split coil. Very surprising how thin it sounded. But under gain the titan was the better sounding pick up.

Man, the Omega dominates in every single comparison! Doesn’t even seem fair honestly!

Theres a quality in the dimarzios that makes them sound complex, sounds like overtones. The Seymour duncans are in your face with the note fundamentals. I think thats what makes them great for big distorted proggy chords. But the thing is that every single dimarzio that I've heard has that overtone quality and every single Seymour Duncan ive tried has that dry in your face quality.

Titan for high gain and Omega for cleans for me. Whish there was a pickup that could do both
@terran2362 жыл бұрын
That's why different amps are for haha. I'm sure a clean focused amp will get you there with any pickup. Like the Bogner Shiva , mesa boogie transatlantic, or Carvin Legacy 3 to name a few.

@@terran236 Yeah but having two amps for live use is way too much hassle and too expensive

i dont know why people like harshy pickups like all the seymour duncans, the Titan its soooo much clear and cut better on mix, DiMarzIo-emg-seymour in that order

Remember most people aren't obsessed with tone. Most people just pickup the guitar for 15 minutes every blue moon. To most people louder and more annoying sounds better. The Titan seems to have better overtones/natural harmonics. Not to mention it sounds more open every single DiMarzio I played sounds more open than anything Seymour Duncan has done. Almost like a built-in Reverb or something LOL. Maybe I'm just biased because DiMarzio is my favorite.

The Alpha sounds higher mids. Might cut through the mix better. The titan sounds more scooped. I guess that makes sense because Mark should be more of a lead player and the mids cut through better. I like the Titan better probably because I'll be doing more clean stuff. They both sound great.
