bought this switch alongside 2 SD p-rails and a hot rail in the middle, can't wait for everything to arrive, especially not after this great video!

Thanks and Nice! That will be killer with the P-rails, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Great video. You make it look easy. What type and value of pots did you use in that installation?

Thanks so much for your kind words! I used 500k pots

What’s up, old friend?!?! Dude. Pending the wife’s approval, I may be getting this exact set-up in an S-style Guitar I’m eyeing. Wow.

Dude! What’s up!?!? It is seriously amazing, such an extremely versatile setup with these pickups and the Hyperswitch! So cool to hear from you bro! Shoot me a DM, I’d love to catch up!

The guitar was way too distorted. Made it very difficult to hear what the pickup combinations actually sound like. Ugh!
@CollinLittlejohn Жыл бұрын
Some gain actually increases your ability to hear the differences and exaggerates the phase/polarity changes. It’s how I was able to beat show the differences, with my sound and style.
@TheBbtlegit Жыл бұрын
Exactly I don't know why these guys continue to do this.
@genenery9315 Жыл бұрын
Yes, ‘some’ gain. But you’re using quite a lot of gain. The amount you’re using just obscures the pickups’ tonality because it’s waaay too distorted. All those chords you’re playing just sound like mush.
@TheBbtlegit Жыл бұрын
@@genenery9315 Exactly i don't get some people anyone listening can't tell the difference if you have all of that gain. Now when you play clean its a no brainer.
@genenery9315 Жыл бұрын
@@TheBbtlegitI think some people just have to have lots of distortion on all the time. I don’t get it. I think it’s like a crutch for them. I don’t care for a completely clean signal either but when I’m playing chords I want to hear the individual notes in the chord fairly clearly. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Just ordered one of these switches. Where did you put your battery? Was there enough room under the pickguard? Is there any output if the battery dies? Thanks!
@CollinLittlejohn Жыл бұрын
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it! I installed mine in a battery box on the back of the guitar however you should be able to fit the battery under the pickguard. There is no output if battery dies however the app tells you what percentage of your 9v battery is left and it last quite a long time. Hope this helps and enjoy exploring all the cool tones!

@@CollinLittlejohn Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

I've installed the hyperswtich with 2 hot rails & a Fender EJ single coil pickup on the neck.On the Hyperswitch app I see all 3 pickups as single coil pickups for some reason! The app recognizes it as a single coil pup!I dont see the 2 Hotrails pickups or the North South indicators.Is this some malfunction or an issue with the wiring? If so does the SHR1N/SHR1B pickups have different color codes than other pickups?
@CollinLittlejohn8 ай бұрын
i would double check your wiring on the hyperswitch and check to see if you can change the pickup type in the app

Good demo! Great playing. I red that you can't get coils wired in parallel on a single humbucker. Is that true? That's one of the most importand configurations. This is the sound of the 80s cleans strat sounds of studio musicians like Dann Huff and Mike Landau.
@CollinLittlejohn2 ай бұрын
Not true you can get parallel humbucker options, It's essential for that Huff/Landau thing like you mentioned!

@@CollinLittlejohn Great news. I was afraid I could not do it. Thanks. My hyperswitch with seymour duncen everything axe pickups will arrive this week.

@@CollinLittlejohn I just got an email from seymour duncan support: It's not possible to use the humbucker in parallel and in phase.

Does it work with sustainiac pickup?
@CollinLittlejohn Жыл бұрын
I can’t confirm but, I would imagine there shouldn’t be a problem with wiring the pickup side of a sustainiac to the hyperswitch if the sustainer side was wired with its own typical mini toggles for on/off and harmonic mode selection. However you will need an additional battery to power the hyperswitch. Hope this helps

No reviewer has shown how the battery fits in the cavity. Is it a struggle or what?
@CollinLittlejohn9 ай бұрын
No, it's just a little cramped depending on what exact model and era guitar you have (even fender widely varies on the electronics cavity routes) and its a little more involved to swap the battery out if its under a pickguard. If it were rear-routed with a back plate it would be much easier to get to for quickly swapping out the battery. Hope this helps!

Why do you guys play with so much gain when demonstrating this product. Clean is the best way to demonstrate this product. At least a few people on KZbin understand this.Get a clue.

@@CollinLittlejohn Totally disagree playing clean is the best way of hearing the difference between the tones. I seen another video on KZbin and all he played was clean tones and you could definitely hear the difference. With all that gain not so much.
@CollinLittlejohn Жыл бұрын
Well to each their own, I guess. As you’ve pointed out there are other demos just using this clean, I like some gain. Good thing all these different options are available to listen to and watch
