Excellent demo with excellent playing. I have a Nazgul paired with a Jazz on my cheap as dirt Schecter Deluxe 6 and I absolutely love it. It's got tremendous clarity and crunch and it screams. I also found it to be surprisingly warm for a ceramic, and this is probably due to the fact that it's medium output. It's like a Duncan Custom paired with a Distortion. It's great for anything from classic 70s rock to modern metal and everything in between. I can get a lot of 80s tones from it as well with my Marshall. One of the best things Duncan ever created. Highly recommended.

Thank you for watching! I could not have said it better myself. The Nazgul is extremely well rounded. and certainly not just for the modern heavy stuff. I am considering putting it in my other Charvel Dinky which currently has the Full Shred in the bridge. I find that pickup to be too bright overall.

@@digital360 In my experience Duncans that are between 11 and 14 DC tend to sound best, have more clarity, etc. The Nazgul and Full Shred and Custom are in this range.

I have the same pickup combo in my ibanez rg, the top end is rounded off to cut any harsh treble but still with enough bite to cut through. Low end is tight as!

Great playing! Were those riffs from something I’d know or are they just so good they sound familiar? (In the first 2 minutes)

Thanks man! Those are just some riffs I wrote back then. I was going for some djent sounding stuff.

I watched your Harley Benton SC-550 II review and ive seriously considered making it a proper metal chugger but also have it do some nice clear cleans. so im planning on putting these pickups in it with some gotoh locking tuners and a few more upgrades!

Yeah That sounds pretty cool. I may eventually go with a more modern set of pups in the HB in the future. Let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching!

how the nazgul compares to the omega bridge pickup? i didnt liked the omega because it felt so treblely and harsh to my ears. Is nazgul a good option instead of omega? maybe blackwinter? thank you
@digital3602 жыл бұрын
So the Nazgûl also has a fair spike in treble but also a lot more mids boost than the omega. The output of the two pickups is almost identical at around 13k according to the Seymour website. I personally love the Nazgûl. I haven’t tried anything else from Seymour except the full shred which I do not like or recommend.

@@digital360 What didnt you like about the SH-10 Full Shred. I have the Baby Blu DK24 with the coil split and I love the Full Shred. I play more like punk rock/Iron Maiden style metal.
@digital3604 ай бұрын
@andycornman783 I just found it to be too high end focused for my taste. I like bright but it’s a bit over the top. Probably would work great for pop punk tones though.

Really stuck between nazgul and black winter, I have no idea which one I want more lol
@digital360 Жыл бұрын
Looking at the Seymour website, the Nazgûl has just slightly less output. The Black Winter has a bit more mids. Both probably sound similar though with high gain.

Awesome playing! Been considering putting this set in my Schecter Omen Elite 7. I’m not sold on the stock Diamond Heretic pickups… some days I like them, other days not so much
@digital3603 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah I have the same thing with some of my guitars and amp settings - some days its perfect and other days it sounds like something needs tweaking. When I get in that "over analyzing" mindset, I just decide to work on my playing instead. This gets me out of the thinking that I need more gear to sound better. :)

Constructive feedback: If you're going to mic up your cab for audio demos, then in my opinion you have to have it loud enough to drown out the sound of the guitar unamplified. I can hear the sound of the strings twanging. Or it could be that you miced your cab up but you also had a voice mic and its signal was left in the mix. What you could do in that case is select all the parts where you're playing and not talking and delete that.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes absolutely. I believe I just used the camera audio that time so to avoid having to run a mic into Logic Pro and gain stage etc. Good feedback and much appreciated!

I only watched this review because of the kitty cat in the thumbnail. 🤗 I made the mistake of getting EMG-HZ pickups. They are quieter than cheap Chinese no brand pickups. I hate them. 😕
@digital360 Жыл бұрын
That’s a good reason! 😁 I do have soMe EMG retro 70s in another guitar and they sound super quiet noise wise.
