Marisa is just a superb character. Despite her not being considered truly top-tier, in the hands of sb who knows what they're doing, she can absolutely devastate you with her ridiculous damage.

I feel like marisas moves are just way too slow, super easy to whiff punish. She just needs a proper anti air. Sf6 is an amazing game i love how unique the characters are. Even the returning ones

It's a tough balance right? Because her moves hit so hard that if they were faster, she'd be OP. They need to be slow to be balanced, but then she has so fewer opportunities than most other characters. I'm not sure about needing better anti-air. She does have a few options and I think her jumping MP MP went very underutilized in this match. But I'm mediocre at best, so I don't know. I've actually been thinking that maybe some buffs to the armor on Phalanx would be good so she can counter fireballs more reliably.

@@dmmontal I'm a casual player (at best, and a filthy Modern player at that) who mained Marisa for most of year 1, and I've felt for months that Phalanx needs a couple extra armor frames. (Maybe some frame-one invulnerability to lows, too; I got swatted out of the air before I even got started a few times.) On top of the jumping MP+MP, my go-to anti-air was actually a charged Gladius, though that admittedly had mixed results.

@@StretchDude As a casual Marisa Master (probably the worst master around lol) I agree some of her armor interactions felt a bit weird recently. Mostly on Gladius though. Moments I thought the armor should have protected me didn't... Also, she does have a very slow walk speed, which wouldn't be so bad if Bison or Akuma didn't exist. So, yeah, she can be very frustrating to play when you feel like your opponent can freely whiff and dance around you. And, as for her counter, to be allowed to lose the interaction after a successful phalanx, because faster characters can hit first or throw an invincible reversal is a bit sad. However, when you land those fists on their face... man, does it feel good. Also love her overall larger than life attitude.

I'm no expert, but even when she was "good", I think she was usually positioned as middling. Currently she's bottom-tier or even lowest on most tier lists unfortunately.
